Implemented Cutscene torrents?

Just an idea, but maybe someone who knows something about torrents and shiznits could make torrents of the cutscenes? It would save time for those that want to download all the cutscenes, and as far as I can tell, it's not illegal, seeing as how the cutscenes are already there.

I second the torrent suggestion. For downloading multiple files, torrents are better than direct downloads imo.

Using a zipped folder wouldn't work too well imo because most people don't want all of the cutscenes and just pick and choose the ones that they want. Plus it would probably be too big to be hosted on any website without splitting it into multiple parts.

 

You could categorize it if they group certain videos together:
All BBS Cutscenes (or separate them by person)
All BBS boss battles
All KH1 cutscenes
All KH1 boss battles and so on, and so forth.

As an ex-AMV maker, I would have loved if files were catergorized as "All *insert character here* scenes" >>
But that seems like a lot of useless organizing because then you would have to do it for EVERY character and if you download a folder for one character, and then one for another, you would get a lot of copies.

 

I have to agree with the torrents are better than zip files thing. With a torrent you can select what videos you want, with a zip it's all or nothing.

But I do really like this idea, I think the biggest problem though is having it have enough seeds to make it worthwhile. I'm sure there are quite a few people who would be happy to seed (including myself), but we are talking pretty large files here.

Though if we segmented them by game it might not be so bad.

 

I would totally seed but I only seed at 100 kB/s. I'd still do it though. It's way better than .zip files IMO.

 

I also think this is a good idea, this way we wouldn't have to download cutscenes one by one.^o^

 

There's one site that can support 10 GB. Even then, you wouldn't be able to fit the cutscenes I have together....

So yeah, a Zip multiple parts is cool. And if they don't like a certain video, they can trash it.

And there should be seeders from the Staff or something to keep it up.

 

Maybe not just the staff, but whoever downloads it, because I'm pretty sure the whole idea of seeding is to give back something in return, because once there's a lot of seeding, that's where it's all gonna be coming from (Based on what I know about seeding).

 

When you seed, you allow the download to be in good health.

AKA it will torrent faster.

 

I'm not talking about the seeders only, but the distros. They're the ones that initially seed the torrent till it reaches a decent amount of other seeders. Distros of course have to have high upload bandwith, and be a

and be able to re-seed a particular torrent when requested from a user.
And of course I'm not talking about staff only, but anyone who can be a distro.
