Current staff member as owner?

Do you think it should just be one of the current members of staff?
We already know and trust most of the staff on here, but this new guy (spdude) is making me kinda paranoid at the moment.
Just because he says he's ran a lot of sites, doesn't necessarily mean forums. And the fact that he's owned those sites just makes me think that it's just another site to him.

Sorry if I sound pissed, it's just basically all of the stuff staff is doing at the moment that's making me paranoid.

 

Yeah, we have no clue who this guy is and I don't trust him. Something about all this makes me feel uneasy. It would have been better if deathspank slowly introduced him, instead of just throwing him in here. I guess I might be ok with spdude being staff, but i think a current admin should take over.​

 

spdude paid a lot of money for this site. He owns it. He won't do anything to ruin it. It would be a bad move for him. If anything he'll make it much better than it currently is. (which is mighty fine if I say so myself). He's made many sites better and I won't be surprised if he does the same for KH-V.

Do you really think DS would have sold the site to someone who was going to be and mean? Spdude has run a forum too at least one that I know of and that site is doing amazingly well

Honestly I don't think many of us can or is willing to afford to buy this site, it's expensive to keep running, that is a reason why Deathspank sold it. I for one don't have the money nor skills to run a site like this. I don't know html. XD

It's great we have someone with such experience like Deathspank he will handle site maintence and general things like that, and we will handle the forum. And besides most sites have forum's these days, especailly fansites.

I think as long as people maturely express their opinions, this thread isn't all that dangerous.

If someone doesn't trust the new owner, I think they're entitled to expressing it--however I think many of you are being unfair by judging him this quickly.

Let's be honest, how many of you have actually talked and/or seen Deathspank on these forums, or know him very well at all. I sure don't. Sure, he's posted a few times here and there, but for the most part, he's an enigmatic figure that no one's really associated themselves with. You all trusted DS because he's owned and ran the site for years and nothing really went wrong. You trusted him because the site kept running and things were fixed when they were broken. This trust has very little to do with anything else if you ask me.

Sp just got here, and already you're all spiting him and paranoid about his ability. Give him a chance to show us what he can do. And if you ask me, if he actually participates in forum activities by posting and associating with members; he's already doing something DS didn't do.

If you can put trust in someone who rarely shows their face on these forums, then I'd say if Sp actually puts himself out into the community, you have a whole lot more to put trust in if he runs the site well.

 

Yes well I work during the holidays, tis a fact that getting a job in university effects your grades and with me doing that wouldn't be a good idea. XD

Still did it have to be so sudden? I mean one minute we're cruisin the forums completely oblivious, and the next we have this guy who's an admin on his first day, then a few hours later we find out he's bought kh-vids?​

 

It all didn't happen in the space of a day, we didn't see the guy join then forum then went "lol I like his name, new owner." XD

 

Did you expect anything otherwise from an Administrator who barely posts on the forums? He even keeps himself invisible when he's browsing. If you ask me, Deathspank loves the KHV he created, but he surely doesn't think it's important to let his members know what's going on with his site.

I sure don't expect Deathspank to let us know in detail the things he plans.

Were we ever told in advance when forum skins changed? No, they just happened, and although not a big problem, it messed up a lot of my RP and I had to reorganize colours and what not to get it to display right, and remake the images I used.

Exactly. For all we know, Deathspank might've been negotiating with this guy for days, weeks, or more, but just didn't create a username until the negotiations were over.

 

He owns KHInsider[dot]com. Go over there and check out the site+forums if you want to see how good he's been holding that up. :3

And if you ask me, spdude tends to be more than slightly indeed not inactive enough. . . . wait, what?

 

He's slowly monopolizing the KH sources on the internet. Lulz.
