So i've noticed something about the current activity section of a person's homepage.

It used to tell you when people were both viewing threads and replying to them. Now, I see that it only tells you that someone's viewing them, even if they're replying.

Could this feature possibly be put back into place? I think it was lost after we upgraded vBulletin, so I figure it should be possible.

Let me see if I understand correctly.

Instead of a profile saying, Viewing Thread "Current Activity" or Replying to Thread "Current Activity", it just says Viewing Thread or Replying to Thread?

I believe that just means the user is viewing an index, a forum, or a thread you don't have access to.
    For example, staff only forums.

No. It never acknowledges that they are or were ever replying to a thread. It only ever says that they're viewing it.

I could understand if a staff member was viewing a thread in their section, but this isn't about that.

Well, that's because they're probably using Quick Reply.

It says Replying to Thread [Thread Name] if the person is in the Advanced Editor, which requires either clicking Go Advanced or just double-clicking on Reply to Thread.

The Modifying Post Current Activity kind of works the same, but it's the opposite.
If you click Edit Post, your profile will say Modifying Post, even after you save the post, but if you double-click it or click on Go Advanced, when you save, it will go back to Viewing Thread [Thread Name].

    Ah, I see.

Still, I would enjoy it if I could see when people are replying to a thread without them having to go into the Advanced Editor.

If this is possible i'd really appreciate it.

Well, I believe Quick Reply and Quick Edit can be disabled so that when Reply to Thread or Edit Post are clicked, one is instantly taken to the advanced editor.

They're enabled, I believe, for ease of access.

Well, that would just be pointless.

You know, the more I look into this, the more complicated it seems.

Since the quick reply doesn't leave the page you're currently on or anything, it's impossible for the forum to realise you're replying to the thread.

    This.

And to be quite honest, I think if we disabled the quick reply feature people would be pretty upset, haha.
(example a: I posted this using quick reply)

Yeah, it would be a big hassle, huh?

I guess I was wrong about this. I just thought it would help the people who needed to check on members of their RP or for members like me who get antsy about replies to their threads.

I guess this can be locked now.
