Originally revealed for Europe to be bundled with pre-downloaded copies of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the Crystal Red and Crystal Blue 2DS systems, harkening back to the days of the Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance, will be available beginning November 21 for $99.99 each, $30 cheaper than the current 2DS price (possibly indicating a forthcoming price drop?). If you're looking to purchase a system from the 3DS family, this might be a good opportunity to save money while doing so. even though the New 3DS systems should be coming out sometime next year...
OH BOY. I've been seriously considering grabbing a 2DS considering how cheap they are. I'm not really one for Nintendo so all I'd really be playing on it would be Dream Drop Distance, Animal Crossing, and of course Pokemon, so I've been stuck deciding whether it's worth it for me to hold out for the new 3DS... but these designs man. I had the original purple crystal GBC so there's some definite nostalgia going here. You have a 2DS, right Tale? How do you find the form factor? I know I should really hold one for myself but I've grown so used to the foldable DS design.
It's a lot more comfortable than you might think! It fits in your hands very nicely, everything is easy to reach, and the buttons aren't too big or too small. The only drawbacks that might bother you are the non-folding design and the mono speaker.
While I never was fond of the overall 2DS design, even I can admit that those look awesome, to the point where I'd seriously consider buying one if I didn't already have a 3DS. Man, so much nostalgia of the GBC days...
