* this is my second story, the story "drama!" died becaus of the relationship with my boyfriend ending...so here is a different story with magic....enjoy!* GENISIS THE COVEN CHRONICALS BONFIRE “Are you coming or not?” asked Chloe, “Yeah yeah I’m coming” I answered back, “just hold on”, “Oh you know the party doesn’t start until you get here” she said as she laughed. “Ok bye, see you in a few”. I hung up the phone and set it down on my end table, my room was a mess the brown walls were plastered with posters of my favorite bands and pictures of movies and video games I was obsessed with, my bed was a mess in and of its self. Shirts and pants where spread all around it, somehow I was able to sleep in it at night. I grabbed the first pair of pants I saw, they didn’t look dirty and it really didn’t matter if they were or not, I was going to a bonfire; it was going to be dark in a few hours away. Chloe, a good friend of mine was having a bonfire at her house and I was invited, it made me feel cool, being invited to a graduate’s bonfire, to tell you the truth Chloe and I were super close, and I was always hanging with kids that were one or two grades above me anyway, Chloe, Roxanne, Brent, Logan, Sophie, Jen, Taylor, and myself were always hanging out together we were the nine musketeers. August was coming to a close, Chloe Roxanne Jen and Taylor were all going away to college soon and this was going to be the last time we would see them until Christmas break in December, so we knew that we had to make this party the best get together we would have ever (and most possibly) ever have again. It was a sad night, but at the same time it was going to be a blast. I grabbed my wallet and shoved it in my back pocket and as I walked out of my room I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, my light brown hair lay on the top of my head slightly wet still, my bright blue eyes were staring back at me, this is it I said, and headed out of my room and out of my house to the bonfire. A few minutes later my silver little Toyota 4x4 pickup truck pulled up to Chloe’s house, there were cars there already, I could see Brent’s car, Jens van that no doubt was how Logan had got here. I walked into the back yard; Chloe lived on the outside of town, so there was a slight path leading into a clearing where I could hear voices. “WYATT!” bellowed Taylor, he ran half across the clearing and gave me a huge bear hug, he was one of the best defensive players the North Town Knights had, but he had graduated so they would need to find someone equally huge, he was 6’5 built to a T and he was a total teddy bear, but to shy around girl. “Hi...Tay…what’s up?” I gasped trying hard to breath, he let go off me and a fell to the ground with a thud, I could hear laughing and looked up as Logan and Sophie were holding hands sitting on a lawn chair a few feet away looking at me “you get’em tay” laughed Logan, he was slightly taller than me, with short brown hair and he was also on the football team, but he was on the offence, he was built as well, but he was fast which was scary in its own right. Sophie, Logan’s girlfriend, was sitting on his lap, her long blond hair falling gracefully down from here head, she was a dancer and a natural at it too; she would often break out into random dance whenever she got bored. I saw Chloe off over by the fire, her short brown hair fell just a little down past her face, she flashed a smile and waved, I waved back. Next to her was Brent he was taller than me and Logan, but not as tall as Taylor, he was strong but wasn’t in football because his parents didn’t want him to “get hurt”, he waved too and so did his girl friend Jen, she was sitting next to him waving, her beautiful curly blond hair fell down almost all the way down to her back, Roxanna ran up to me and gave me a hug. “hey buddy!” she said, she was the shortest, she had short bright red hair, she loved dyeing her hair cool colors. “Hi sunshine” I replied “how are you doing?” “I’m good” she took my hand and sat me down next to her by the fire, we weren’t dating, nor did we like each other like that, but we were both single and it was nice to have that feeling. The party then began, talking, and laughter filled the opening in the woods, and it truly was the happiest summer of my life. After an hour or so, Chloe had an announcement. “Ok guys, you know Marie? Right?” There were a few groans in the crowd. “I hate her” Brent said, “she’s a total jerk”. “Yes we know you hate her” Chloe snapped, “but she’s my friend, and I invited her, and…oh she’s here”. The group turned to face the direction where Chloe was staring, a short girl with brown hair and freckles covered here face. The second she stepped into the clearing, the tension grew so thick I could have cut it with knife. “Hi everyone” Marie said politely, “thanks again Chloe for letting me come over”. “No problem!” Chloe flashed a smile at Marie in an attempt to make her feel welcome…it didn’t work so well. It took about a half an hour for the talking to return to the clearing, but that didn’t stop everyone’s glares, it made me feel bad that everyone but Chloe and I hated Marie. It was only because she had totally destroyed the super close bond the Roxana and Chloe had, it started innocent enough, Chloe and Marie had a class together, Chloe tried to get Marie and Roxana to be friends, but there was one major problem, Roxana and Maries personalities were as opposite as night and day, thus the “dream team” Chloe had thought the three of them could be was destroyed before it ever happened. The conversations returned to some what normal, everyone was talking about how much they were looking forward to the new school year. Chloe and Marie mostly talked to each other, since Marie wasn’t liked much, and Chloe didn’t want to make her feel unwelcome. Marie looked up at the clouds, “oh no. it looks like it might rain” she said, will disappointment in her voice. “No it wont.” said Sophie “they will blow over” and a few seconds after she said this, the wind started to pick up. Marie’s face grimmest. And hour or so later, Marie spoke again, this time she was more angry than curious. “you know, know one has put a new log on the fire, and yet its still burning” Everyone around grew stiff, I could feel Roxanna, whose body was closes to mine, tense up. Everything happened so fast, Marie pulls out a gun from her pocket and aim it at the nearest person across the fire from her, Logan. Chloe shoots up and runs over to the others on the opposite side of the fire. And I felt Taylor put one arm around me and pull me in close. “explain, now” Marie demanded. “what are you talking about?” said Chloe, “why do you have a gun?!” “oh shut up! Do you think im that stupid? Someone here is a magician, and they are controlling the fire! Now! Who is it?” Marie shouted. “I am” said Roxanna “ha, I knew I didn’t like you” laughed Marie. And she aimed at Roxanna’s heart and pulled the trigger. “NO!” screamed Jen, as the bullet left the barrel. It sailed across the clearing before it stop suddenly in mid-air, flattened in on its self, and fell to the ground. Like it hit a wall. “so! You are one as well!” roared Marie, she fired more shots, they all met the same fate. “yeah, so what’s it to you!” Roxanna yelled back, as a fireball erupted from her outstretched palm, and sailed straight for Marie, who dodge it. She fired more shots, but the invisible wall was keeping any bullet away from us. “Brent” whispered Taylor, “I think its time for a get away” “I second that” said Sophie “give me a sec” Brent said coolly, as he turned around and walked the other way. He stuck out is hand, and under his breath I heard him say the words, “open, to a safe place” and, out of nowhere, a huge hole appeared, there was a soft blue light coming from inside, but I couldn’t see what was on the other side. “Taylor, take Wyatt, now” instructed Jen. “yeah yeah you don’t have to tell me twice” he responded. He grabbed me and walked me over to the hole, and we walked thought it, Into an abandon church “Welcome to the safe house Wyatt” said Taylor
One problem that I have that made it difficult for me to read and enjoy was the layout. Aligning the entire thing centered with few spaces for the reader to breath gets somewhat annoying after a while. You may want to go back through and edit it and do the same for future additions.
