Yeah but when they saw the pic of Roxas, surely they would have remembered Ventus.

I guess it might be a situation like Xion, she was forgotten after her merge with Roxas.

Or maybe the whole "erase me" thing doesnt just remove ven from excitence maybe it also removes the memory of Ven.
And knowing kingdoms hearts fetish with memorys it could be possible .

Not to mention the issue of whether or not they've seen the keyblade in this game or not.

 

Xigbar clearly remembers Ven. Maybe humans all look the same to dogs and ducks.

At the end of 358/2 days when you fight Riku, Roxas has a hard time remembering Xion and refers to Xion as "her" in his statement, "then I can have ice cream with Axel and her". Riku even mentions to Roxas that he's having a hard time remembering Xion after she merges with Sora.

Though if the "Erase me" scene does occur after the apprenteces become nobodies, perhaps it is possible for Nobodies to retain their human memories of a person but forget their nobody memories of that same person. Due to the fact that the organization kept their memories of Sora after Namine was repairing Sora's memories in 358/2 days. But then again, that theory contradicts with Roxas forgetting Xion. Maybe Roxas just has bad memory judging by the fact the he couldn't remember anything about his human life.
