Help Confused

I have read all the stickies but it seems like it isn't helping. I want to have a signature, but the remote file is always too large. I use photobucket, and put in the URL but it is too large. It says it must be under 1,000 bytes, but I have seen others much larger.
Also, I am unable to rep. The icon is grey.
I have not been on the site very long, do I just not have the priveledges?

As for the rep, you don't have enough "rep power", aka the number of points you give out.
The more rep you have, the more you give out.

rep doesn't effect your sig size. I'd suggest loading the image on photobucket, right click, click view image, highlight the web address and use that as the location for your image. IF it doesn't work , then i'd suggest finding a small sig.
