Every time I try to boot up my computer, it doesn't work. It goes to the "Start Windows Normally" screen then when I click to start normally, windows XP tries to load. Then the blue scrolling hing scrolls for a bit and then it freezes. The computer restarts and starts the whole process all over again. The only strange thing that happend lately is last night my speakers made a short static noise every so often. I'm using my dad's computer to post this. Please help me.

    Oh boy...

    Couple of things man.

Have you installed any new drivers or changed any Bios settings lately?

It definately sounds like you have some corrupted windows files... but if you haven't made any driver or bios changes lately, it may be something else.

What I would suggest is get a hold of a your windows xp boot disk and do something called a "repair install". What it will do is repair any corrupted or missing files (won't delete your applications or screw your settings). You need to be careful when doing it though. If you don't know how, this link should help you.

    Good luck! ^^

    Pretty much what condemned said.
Also, have you tried booting in safe mode? (Hold F8 during the computer's boot procedure, it should take you to the boot screen)

But branching off what condemned said about the XP disk, before doing a repair install, you might want to perform "CHKDSK" in the recovery console. This should help.

sorry, I thought I'd posted a thing saying this, my computer works now, it was something to do with the partitions. Sorry to Toshi I know you probably put a lot of work into your answer.
