So let me see if I understand you...you hear a siren if you ry to get a video or game on the internet to load?

Only guess I can make is maybe you have something installed on your PC that's trying to block the video/game, and the siren is a warning of some sort, like "Hey!This stuff's bad! Abort!ABORT!". I've never heard of a program doing that before, which is stumping me.

What do you have installed for spyware removal/antivrus programs? Give 'em a scan on your system just to check for anything funky, and see if one of them is blocking Javascript or Runtime things from the Internet.

Also, do you live in a suburban or urban neighborhood? Sirens, if I'm correct in assuming so, are about as regular an occurance in an urban environment as anything. Maybe you're just mixing up the sound while you're using the computer.

no, i mean if i'm playing a game or watching a video i hear the siren after a few minutes.

i check my pc for spyware and other things and it's clean.

i'm not living in a suburban or urban neighborhood, it's really my pc making that noice.

Ok...do you know if someone changed the sounds on your computer? Few people know how to do this, but if you download sound files (like WAVs), keep them in a easy to find folder, and open your control panel, you can replace the Windows default noises with the WAVs; for exmaple, I have Homer's "Doh!" as an error message.

Somebody might have put the siren on your computer so when some process finishes loading the siren goes off as a prank. Other than that, I'm quite stumped.

Is the sound coming from the speakers or from inside the computer?

try unplugging it for an hour or so, same with the speakers it might be overheating, and thats the "engine" so to speak trying to cool off

The RAM might be misplaced. Open your pc, remove the RAM card (or all of them, if you have more) and then place them back again. Make sure you put first RAM card in the first slot (and put the other cards next to it, without leaving empty slots). And for safety measures, after you've done all that, touch one side of the power supply unit. Then start your pc and see if it worked...

A three year old computer is bad enough, but if you got it from a friend its definitely older. I suggest upgrading RAM to 2-4gb or just buying a new computer.

EDIT: Clean the dust out, your computer WILL overheat.

Because he has a 3 year-old computer it doesn't mean anything. Do you know how long I had my computer, without a single upgrade? I bought it at 2000 and it stopped working those Christmas. 9 years man. And it was working like a charm.

Dude I don't know what the problem is but to stop the beep sound:
Right click on My computer->Properties->Hardware->Device Manager->View -> Show Hidden Devices -> Non Plug and Play -> Beep -> Right click and select Disable

Now you need to reboot your system

A siren sound from within the computer is usually the alarm for a processor being overworked/overheated, so I would suggest not disabling sounds. Has your computer ever shut down on you? Or do you just hear the sound?

I would try to clean out the inside of the computer with an air can, especially paying attention to your cpu fan as the processor may be having troubles keeping cool. Are there any other symptoms you notice?

I don't think its a cooling problem cause the siren goes away when i close the site.

It always keeps working so i only hear the sound.

My pc is clean of dust and i think i will clean it every month now.

I don't know no other symptoms i know is work normaly exept for the siren.

edit: cleaned my computer one more time to be sure and now the siren is gone.

thanks for helping everybody you got rep for that.
