Character Development

Alright, I have almost no planned storyline to this, but the story isn't the point. This is an RP intended for you to use characters so that their abilities and personality are fine tuned for the RP they were actually intended for. If you don't like receiving criticism then I recommend that you stay clear of here because I don’t want this to be a mary-sue training camp. If you see people making a character or RPing in a way that people won’t like, I encourage you to speak up. It defeats the purpose of this thread to have characters coming out just as bad as they came in. I’m fine with OOC conversations in here since it allows others to learn from your mistakes but it is frowned upon in real RPs so keep that in mind.

Also in order to stop this from becoming chaotic I would like it if there were some people that already had decent characters to play in here as well.

I won’t put rules in here unless things become an issue but keep in mind forum rules and common RP rules.

And finally if you want to manipulate the plot of this thread let me know. I’ll most likely tell you to go with it, but if too many people are trying their own plot twists then it will be hard to follow and therefore hard to utilize.

Leave a post if you want in including at the very least the name of your character. The more info that you can post about your character the better, but again I want this to adapt easily into other RPs and everybody’s OC form is slightly different and many of these characters will change as they go.

 

I don't quite follow on what your trying to do.

 

Well many times when somebody first trys to use a character there are still some pieces that need to be ironed out. I'm sure almost any experienced RPer will vouge for that. This allows them to get their character finetunes before making their character seem like it has multiple bipolar personalities in the real RP.

 

So your basically saying that they develop their character in here while its in another RP? I'm not sure it would work out too well as it would become confusing to some people if they where to combine the character from here in the RP it first came from. I'll leave this open and see how it goes but I'm not expecting much of an improvement in characters since its really writing capabilities that should be getting improved as a whole which in turn would improve characters as well as the way people roleplay.

 

I didn't mean that they would use them in both places at once per se. I would agree that would just make it more confusing. And I know that writing style is important to the character as well, I even touched on that on that in the opening post. I guess what I'm really hoping for is for this to be a revision of the RP Workshop, seeing as that is as good as dead at this point. Let's just hope for the best with it.

 

Okay, i'll be keeping an eye on this anyway. As you said the Workshop is dead so this is probably needed. I'm just a tad concerned about the egos of members being a bit too much for themselves is all. Anywho, lets see what comes of this then.

 

Name: Phenox

Age: 17

Bio: his parents were killed when he was a human at the age of 14. he mrt an officer named Hawkwing. he put him in an orphanage... but he ran away... he was attacked by heartless and lost his heart, creating Phenox. he joined the Organization but left it three years later. Xemnas ordered an all-out search and destroy. Phenox found out that Xemnas was responsible for his parents' death and fought him. he barely survived. he is currently laying low, unaware that Organization XIII is gone.

Hair Color: Silver

Body Build: muscular. not totally buff.

Eye Color: Blue

Wardrobe: an Organization coat. whenever he's out in public, he wears a tight, black muscle shirt and faded blue jeans.

I think this could be something I could use for some practice, might help to see how some characters I had in mind for various writings can act with other characters in random circumstances. I'll give it a shot. If you want anymore detail on anything, I will comply.

Character name: Johnny "Nails" Kerr
Gender: Male
Age: 28

Personality: As his name suggests, emotionally unstable in his opinion. He feels he is crazy, sometimes tries therapy and suggestions, but it never works out. Has doubts in humanity.

Bio: Johnny's father was a abusive drunken man, who was eventually judged criminally insane. Johnny loved his father, though. Loved him so much he faked his own insanity to get into the asylum his father was being held in. There he learned it was not the people in metal cage that were troubled, but there captors. Used for experiments, Johhny was told by the screaming down the hall that his father's usefulness had dried up. It was Johnny's turns then. and out of the blood and chemicals Johhny died and "Nails" was born. The experiments granted him some power, though. Using these powers and the trust he had gained from some of his "friends" he staged a riot and broke out.

Powers: Has extendable nails that he can break loose from his finger tips and he can use as weapons. Can also keep attached and use them as they are. If they break off, they will cause him some pain but will regrow quickly.

Appearance: Gray hair from long periods of electro shock therapy and paranoias along with other experiments, asylum white patient uniform.

Weapons: Nails, two knives he usually concelas or carries openly.

Name: Bane
Gender: Male
Age: 35

Personality: Depends on time. He understands people "like" him and tries to become friends with them.

Bio: Bane's father commited a crime when Bane was young, Bane never learned the exact nature of it. Due to the laws, he and his mother were sent in place of the father. The mother died, weak of will to live on. The warden started to call the son "Bane of his existance" and that became Bane's name around the prison. Slowly he exercised his strengths, but lost his "healthy" mental state. His rage slowly became more readily released, sometimes for no reason. Released fror good behavior, Bane was silenly plotting his revenge on a world that had broken his old self.

Powers: Strength, speed, combat skills. Healing from wounds and some diseases faster then others.

Appearance: Slim from eating scraps, shaved brown hair, usually wears a brown jacket.

Weapons: Tall, slim sword and a pistol he rarely uses.

Name: Mask
Age: 32
Gender: Male

Personality: Depends on time.

Bio: Had a good life and relationship, though on the second it was steadily worseing making the first go with it. Dying on the inside, he developed the idea that all of society wore "masks." Believeing he had seen these, this was kept in check by his now almost at the brink relationship. When they broke up, he went over the edge inside. Scarring his face horribly, he wore a simple white mask over his face.

Appearance: Some might mistake him for a poor begger by his clothes, tatterd remnants of what once might have been a good black suit. Wears the white mask at all times if possible. Carries around a sign for his own reasons asking for money, when he gets none he sometimes believes it proves his point on the face beneath the mask of humanity.

Weapons: Combat skills, a wooden sign he carries around. Uses whatever lies around to make up for his lack of powers.

Powers: None. Naturally abilities, perhpas physichal capabilities, but nothing really superhuman.

Thanks. I had expected more people to at least try this but it's not really working.

I'm thinking we should start this soon regardless. There are four of us (or at least I think Legion is helping out).

 

OOC: yeah. that would be a good idea. once it starts, more people may join. it's possible.
