I'll press the button and it'll make this really quick sound like it's starting to open, but it won't budge. It's been like this for quite awhile. Any reason for why?
I'm 95% sure there's nothing in there, especially since my computer is telling me it's empty.

I've had this happen to me before, I can't remember what I did to make it work again, but I'm pretty sure I restarted my computer. Try that? if it doesn't work, I don't know what else will apart from kicking it Cx lol, No don't.

It's been like it for several weeks now but since I don't usually use that drive, it wasn't a problem. I've turned it off and on, restarted it countless times since it first started happening so it's not that.

....and I almost did kick it

If you are using a pc either tower or laptop, usually beneath or near the disk tray there is a very small hole. It's a manual override of the cd drive. Get either a toothpick or a paperclip and gently poke it into the hole until the tray opens.

This works. If you need to get it open, there is a small hole that you can use to open it up manually.

Or, like if you're not bothered to do that, you can try and eject it from the computer itself.

From My Computer, Right Click the drive, then eject.

    Sometimes this works.

This always works for me. Also, if you have a laptop and can eject the drive somehow (mine has a button that ejects the drive completely, as in take it out), try that to refresh it.

If you've ejected it before in that manner, check the pins and make sure they aren't bent or anything like that because if any of them are that means the signal to pop open the drive isn't getting processed correctly.
