Implemented Castle Oblivion Event

I think this is the wrong place but I see nowhere else to put it. Is KHV going to do it again this year? Because I missed out on it and I'd like to take a shot at it!

It sounds like it's annual, by how Chev is wording it.

 

Yeah, you'll be able to partake this year in the Castle Oblivion event. And you can win the Castle Survivor pin.

I mean, the activity or trivia will be a bit different, but overall, you can win the pin and a Christmas stocking with goodies inside.

 

Will the pin be different from last year's? I want to get two of them >:D

 

The pin will be the same, but the stocking will be different. And we don't give out duplicate pins, we generally edit the Issue Reason to reflect that you've earned the pin twice.

 

I'm glad this will happen again, as I missed it the first time. Just one question.

Around when should it begin?

 

We haven't set a date yet; last year it started on December 19th. That's not to say it will be exactly that day, but we will hopefully try to stick to that timeframe.

 

Might I suggest that it be different each time? Like, Castle Oblivion last time, and perhaps the Realm of Darkness (to match BBS: FM) this year, then something new that fits with KH3D next year? Just a thought. That way those who already got the previous year's pin can look forward to another pin.

 

I'd like to try it to. I've never actually participated, but it seems fun.


And do you think you can postpone it until somewhere around mid-January, or February?

 

I'm not exactly sure how the event works really. Is it just a quiz about Castle Oblivion? The Kingdom Hearts series in general? How does it work?

Castle Oblivion is a Christmas event where if you open all the floors of the castle oblivion section (which only opens on the date of the event) you get a prize, along with the Castle Survivor pin. Last year it was riddles on the Kingdom Hearts Series and you'd get some PC and PSP themes.

Yes, there will be. You should expect it in December, though.

 

Ah so it's like the staff's xmas present to all of KHV? I like it, will definitely be trying to win (not good at riddles though). Is it based around the entire series or is each event based around one particular game?

 

Last year it was based on riddles from the entire series.

Haha, well, the staff are writing the questions, and as none of us will have played Dream Drop Distance as that time, there likely won't be any in-depth questions on it--if there are, they will probably be on information from the news/trailers we've gotten.

 

good thing I watch walkthroughs. Although, watching Kingdom Hearts games in Japanese are kinda hard for me, since there are always a lot of info going on, and since I can't read them, it's hard to follow. Pokemon is really the only game I've managed to watch a walkthrough of in Japanese.
Even still, I shall persevere!!
