Kingdom Hearts Can some one help me with Kingdom Hearts 1?

Hi there, i have a little problem in kindom hearts 1
i am in Hollow Bastion (first visit) and my keyblade is still looking like at the begining... i don't know how to chage it or make it stronger...
and if i couldn't find out i can't defeat riku i think :(. please someone help me would be happy about ^0^

 

1. press start
2. go to equipment
3. go to your current weapon
4. press X on it.
5. find whatever keychain u desire
6. press X on it
now it should be equipped. i hope this helps! :D

Now when you say it looked like it did at the begining do you mean you are still using the kingdom key (gold handle and silver shaft) or that you are using a wooden sword?

If you are using the Kingdom Key then follow what others have said.

If you are using a wooden sword then you must defeat Riku first (based on your first post I'm assuming you made it to his battle). Unfortunately you can't really form strategies with your keyblade because the battle starts immediately when you get it back, so you can't swap it. A few things to keep in mind. There are several pots in the area that drop HP orbs so don't be afraid to go after those. Make sure counter is equipped, it helps A LOT. Riku doesn't take much dammage from magic so try to keep it at cure and areo. And if you haven't been, use Tink, she's very helpful.
