Listen, when were promised DLC in Columbia with different characters? I was ecstatic. Super effing pumped. So now we have.... this. It's not Rapture that I mind here. It's awesome to explore pre-fall rapture. What I'm upset about is we're just Booker and Elizabeth again. No, really, we are going to be doing the SAAAAME THINGS. Maybe no protecting the girl to wipe away the debt- but finding a way out of a shithole we created only to get revealed that Elizabeth is my daughter from another dimension. Super. I can't WAIT to have to be shocked by the same sh*t again.
But we don't know if it's going to be the same characters with the same relationships and the same story. We literally only know that these characters that look and sound like Booker and Elizabeth (and share names) are in Rapture, doing...well, we don't even know what they're doing yet. Think you guys are jumping on the boohoo train way too damn early. But maybe it's just that I'm actually optimistic about some things.
Bro, you seem to be in a bit of denial... Bioshock Infinite is a game about universes. Many of them. In these universes- there is always a start (lighthouse), and there's always a Booker who's the father of Elizabeth. The game went out of its way to say it couldn't be any other way for them. That's the rules of the game world. Anything can happen, in any setting, but the facts have to be the same. The thing in the trailer with Booker leaving his very familiar detective office and opening a door into Rapture was to show us he's opening a door to another dimension. This is one of the doors Elizabeth saw. Booker will still be a father, and Elizabeth will be his... rebellious... daughter and they'll spend half the time finding this out. The trailer also indicated their actions well. "She promised me a way out." Meaning, just like before, we need to get off a seeming paradise we're probably going to turn to sh*t. The how doesn't matter, but the factors are all going to be the same.
Maybe it's just been so long for me, or maybe I just have genuinely bad memory, but I don't remember there having to be a father-daughter relationship thing between Booker and Elizabeth. Unless that whole pinky thing really does have to work out the way it did exactly... But still, I'm excited for this all the same. I REALLY doubt they'll even waste their time writing more stuff for there to be the same plot twists. It's just... Fuck it, I'm often made out to be cynical, but this is a thing I want to enjoy ._.
