[[I'm gonna post chapters to this in different posts. I've had this idea for a while now.]] Chapter 1 Shin looked up at the tall buildings surrounding the park. It was an odd place to put a park, Shin thought, as it was practically closed in by buildings. He had had to go through an office building just to get here. But it was worth it. It was a big place, full of boys and girls, kids his age, and some younger. Even a couple adults. He opened the gate and walked in. His clothes were a tad bit different than some of the other teen's. But just a little brighter, nothing too major. He was wearing bright teal skinny jeans, and a black t-shirt that said "Burn Baby" in big white letters, in English. He tried to scout out the area of the park with the least amount of people, so that he could skate without being harrassed. He noticed a small bowl to the right, almost completely covered in grafitit. There were only a few kids, some skateboarders, some rollerbladers, in that area. He got on his board and pushed until he got to the bowl. He stopped when he got to the coping at the end, took a deep breath, and dropped in. It felt good to be in one of these again, Shin thought. He had just recently moved to Tokyo, and has been having trouble fitting in. But that didn't bother Shin. It only bothered his parents. He shrugged that thought away and focused more on what he was doing. When he reached the other end of the bowl, he grabbed the edge of the bowl and did a small plant, until he went back down to the other side. He noticed as he went that the rollerbladers to the right were all looking at him in disgust. When he got off of his board, they started to approach him. The tallest boy, who appeared to be the leader, addressed Shin first. "Who are you?" The boy asked, with anger in his voice. "We haven't seen you before." He added. "I'm new here." Shin said, rather quietly. The boy quickly snatched Shin's skateboard out of his hand. "You're a skater, huh?" He asked."Why? Why would you do something so stupid? Why not blade, like us?" The boy asked. "You wanna hang out with the other skaters now, blow off all the bladers? Huh?" The boy was getting annoying, Shin thought. "I suppose." Shin said. "You all seem like a bunch of ******s anyway."
That was when Shin did something that really go the bladers angry. He kicked the leader of the "group" in a place where a guy does NOT wanna be kicked, then grabbed his skateboard, and took off. He kicked three hard pushes and went zooming down the sidewalk on the park, until he got to the exit. Shin looked behind him, and saw that two bladers where crouched over the leader, who was writhing in pain on the ground. Two others were skating, as fast as they could, toward him. He also noticed, in the corner of his eye, some skaters watching from the other side of the park. Some where just watching silently, some had their mouths open in awe, and some were cheering. Shin decided to go to them, as it appeared the skaters and bladers had a large rivalry, and the other skaters could probably protect him if it came to a fight. He sakted over to them, and the bladers were close behind. But when they noticed that Shin was about to approach the other skaters, the two bladers backed away. "So," one of the skaters said. "Wanna go kick those punks's asses?"
Er, wow, calling the bladers "******s" and then kicking the leader in the balls sure is a bit of an overreaction. Surely a person new to the area would want to be as friendly as possible to the local kids his age. :v Pleasant enough story to read, your characters need more originality though. Skater kid just moved to a new area is like, really typical I suppose. He needs a bit more depth, perhaps lengthening your chapters could help you. Keep it up :3
