It seems like just a little while ago I was having computer problems, wasn't it? Anyway, my problem this time is whenever I boot up my laptop normally, I get a blue error screen about a minute after it starts. On the blue screen, "Reference_By_Pointer" is shown at the top. I can't do a recovery because apparently there're no restore points, and my recovery discs aren't recognized. Any advice on what to do? I don't care what I need to do, if it requires restoring to factory defaults or anything like that, there's nothing important on the laptop that's having issues. Also, if there's any more info that's needed, I'll do my best to supply it.
You should probably also specify that the laptop boots up fine in Safe Mode, but that makes you unable to have full access to what a laptop is supposed to be able to do. Also, it sounds to me like there's something it accesses early on in the boot process that has critical errors. Analysing what things are set to load on start-up might help.
Due to both of your help, I have figured out the issue. After disabling several non-windows startup services, I restarted the laptop and booted normally. When it finished booting, it ran completely normal, even a bit faster than before the issue started. No blue screens to be found. Now I guess I gotta find out which service it was and get rid of it. Thank you both. This thread can be closed now.
