Blood Pact

Mixing blood. Has anyone done it? What was the agreement, if not too personal? It would be nice, I think, to have someone to do it with. A recurent fantasy of mine, a spoken promise being made and then the hand is slit, blood oozing. How common a practice is this? I am coming up with very little on the internet, on blood pacts; just a bunch of WoW stuff coming up, I've no idea.

It's definitely called that, but I've never known anyone to practice it outside of fantasy. Hm... Is there magick involved, or is it simply meant to be a binding gesture?

 

Magick? Are we speaking of the same thing? Simply meant to be a binding gesture. If you've heard of "blood brothers", something to that effect.

 

Typically there is some witchcraft-superstitions involved, but some weird people who've watched way too many romantic vampire movies do it just because they think it will be cool... This is what Twilight has done to America.

 

I remember back in Elementary school, a bunch of kids were doing something similar. They were making themselves 'blood siblings'. They would prick their fingers and then push them together. A friend of mine, Christina, wanted to become my 'blood sister' but eh. I really didn't want to jab a needle into my finger. ​

I recall splitting my finest ox in half and, covered in its blood, walking between the two halves alongside the one with whom I made the deal. Is that kind of similar?

I've done this once, actually.

We I was little, probably about nine or so, my best friend and I were at the park, and it was early in the morning, and she wondered if two people could somehow be together forever, so she started talking about how if a person shared blood with another person, they would be together forever. Of course, I was nine, so I believed it. I mean I guess it kinda makes sense . . .

So we found a really sharp twig and we cut open our palms just a little bit and clasped them together with each other.

I have never done it and probably never will, unless it does turn out to have some magickal basis. It is cute, but it doesn't mean anything. Wouldn't getting a tattoo be close the same thing? Or I think so, anyway...

 

Well, I have yet to do it. Weather or not anything happens is really up to the people doing it. Sounds similar to a blood oath. I guess thats kinda what it is. Kinda sweet actually. Promising to be together for ever. However this is the spam zone, so no need to go that in depth with it. I have never done it, but who knows. Maybe some day. I like that kinda stuff.
