I made this out of sheer bordem, I hope to expand on it so if anyone has any ideas for things to add to the story in the next chapter feel free to say them as you will be mentioned if the idea is used. It looks like more in Word ._. UPDATED: Chapter 2 added 8th March 2009 Prologue Four horsemen waited on the side of the cliff over seeing the world below them. They hid themselves under cloaks weaved from their very shadows. On the horizon the sun slowly lifted itself into the sky, the light hit the riders but no shadow was cast and no light reflected on the surface of their clothing. These men where clearly not human. Suddenly, one looked up as if waking from a sleep, he turned his head to see the others before returning his gaze to show him down to the base of the mountain. With little sign of command the horse leapt over the edge and vanished into the world below the clouds. Chapter one, A beginning before the end Waking up the teenage boy hit his head on the low cut ceiling above his bunk. “Ow dammit”, he moaned as he fell onto his mattress and rubbed his head hoping it won’t bruise. He looked towards the clock hanging on his wall, 3:12 am, the town was still asleep although he was awake. Quietly, he hopped over the side of the bunk and held onto the side as he lowered himself down gently onto the flats of his feet. Instantly turning and creeping toward the Chester drawers and slowly pulling the draws in an attempt to leave his brother asleep as he acquired socks before creeping once more over towards the closet and got a setup of his casual clothes, a red t-shirt, black jeans and his favourite black jacket. After a quick change from his Pyjamas to his clothes he snuck to the bathroom washed his face, brushed his teeth then slid down the banister outside the bathroom door and landed softly on his feet with a little help from his fluffy socks. Now he was sure not to wake anyone up as long as he didn’t knock anything. Walking casually now he made his way into the kitchen to read a note from his dad, Had to go to work early, we’ll talk to Leon about it tonight, it read obviously being for his mother about something they wanted to talk to him about. Leon didn’t feel he had the time to find out now he would learn tonight anyway. Taking his mobile phone, wallet and keys from the kitchen counter he headed for the back door and slowly unlocked it making the loudest sound he had all night before silently opening the door and closing it gently as he stepped through into his garden and backed up into something. He turned his head to see what or who was there fearing someone was about to break into the house but was interrupted by Leon trying to get out. “Leon you big girl”, a casual, girly sort of voice said as Leon felt himself get pushed almost into the door. Leon turned fully around, “You almost woke someone up”, he whispered to the girl who wore a pair of blue denim jeans and a zipped up blue hoody, “Wait, why are you here?”, he asked still whispering. “I dunno, I was bored and was outside when you came out the door so I snuck up behind you quickly”, she said quietly before giggling in a mocking way. “You’ve gotta stop jumping my fence, your not doing it any good”, Leon complained in his low voice as he walked over to the gate and opened it making a little noise but not enough to wake up his family. The girl walked over to Leon and went through the gate first smiling like she knows she should listen to Leon but ignoring it, she was kind of rebellious but childlike in a way. Leon soon followed as the two headed up the road, “There’s something we need to check out Gwen”. Chapter 2: Red as meat For an unexplained reason the local burger van stayed open almost all the time. The owner seemed to be there whenever anyone needed him, he was some what considered a street guru. Another teenager the same age as Leon was stood at the counter on the outside of the van digging into his hamburger while getting advice from the guru. Leon and Gwen casually walked over seeing both of them in the dim light of the vans interior, “Yo, kid. You need to talk to me today too?”, The Guru asked giddily while flipping burgers, “I already have your favourites prepared”. Leon looked over at the other stood out side looking down as he ate before returning his vision to the guru, “I have a feeling that something is off”, Leon mumbled quietly feeling as if he would sound daft in front of people. The guru handed two burgers down to Leon and Gwen, a quarter pounder for Leon and a veggie burger for Gwen. “So you kids are all here for the same reason? I thought so, anyway I’ve heard rumours about these thugs doing hocus pocus type of stuff”, he explained leaning over the counter on his left arm as his beer belly squashed against the edge and his bald head shined in the light. Leon tensed up, he felt it again. This was what woke him, the wind picked up slightly and blew threw his dyed blue shoulder length hair. He caught a glance of Gwen as her hood fell down and her light brown hair flew out, obviously infuriating her. The other teenager finished his food and shook his hand threw his hair flicking out bits of dust dragged in from the wind. “I’m going”, he said as he swiftly made off down the road into the dark untouched by the light of the moon. “Blake’s a little dull”, Leon stated pulling a bored and annoyed face. “Well he hasn’t slept well since his dad got him a job”, Gwen added pulling her hood back up before heading off down the road occasionally taking a bite of her meal. Leon turned to the guru and placed the correct money on the counter before running off to catch up to Gwen in their pursuit of Blake. The Guru lent over the counter and watched them disappear out of his range of sight, Those kids… Soon enough the two caught up with Blake by being able to see his silhouette in the distance as something large crept towards him, but it was much harder to make out. In an instant the large shape moved closer and swung what looked like a gigantic beast arm at Blake with Blake making a diving roll out of the way. He moved away from it looking somewhat afraid and yet focused, he had the will not to die. Leon felt the fear hit him although his body had already acted before he had noticed what was happening and realised where he was. Above the beast in mid-air attacking with something in his hand. “Wh-what is this?”, he asked as he landed on the things head and leapt back being much more athletic than before. My body… it’s stronger! The creature swung again but this time Leon’s body nor mind reacted. His eyes opened with fear before closing tightly believing it was the end when suddenly, something had stopped the oppressive feeling of brutality. Leon slowly opened his eyes to reveal to himself that Blake had blocked the monster with a strange red spear. Blake instantly pushed back and held the spear in a way a martial artist would, tip to the ground ready to counter. The creature came running forward again, “Burst Cut”, Blake muttered with his usual excited tone then flicking the blade up severing the beats in two as it faded to black. Leon fell down and looked at the object in his hand, it was a strange curved blade sword. A name echoed in the back of his mind, Black Phantom, before he passed out.
Ooooo, I like it thus far! Especially the prologue. It brought me into the story really fast. Nice job thus far! I can't wait to see the rest! At first I was confused wheather it was modern times or another time, but you cleared that up as the capter went along. Hm... No ideas to expand yet, but if I come up with something, I'll let you know. ^^
I hope to explain the whole thing eventually, I'm trying to make it puzzling with multiple directions so it keeps people interested (thank you English class although you where a pain in my ass) and i'm glad I got feedback this time. I must of wrote something good this time. *Insert lolface here* Thanks for reading and the feedback, I hope I can update sooner or later.
Heh, the weapon suddenly taking another form reminded me of Bleach in a way. ^^ Lovely chapter, though Blake suddenly popped in out of the blue to me. Still coming up with ideas, but I'll think of something soon.
