    If everyone else didn’t matter,
In the black of the night,
The sweet promises made in the darkness,
    Broken soundlessly,
    Would it have changed?

In the sanctuary of our minds,
    Will empty sincerities,
    Misinterpreted passion,
    Premature devotion,
    Become lies?

    So many nights alone,
    Wrapped within the bittersweet chorus
    Of our own affection,
    We find shelter and disturbance.
    Inside stained memories we’re lost.

    Should we forget?
    Forget the love?
    Forget the passion?
    Forget the tenderness?
    Forget the damage?

    If everyone else didn’t matter,
And it were just you and I,
    In the bittersweet compassion,
    All but innocence forgotten,
    Would I still love you?
