Betrayal: a poem

This is a poem I wrote when I found that the guy I cared for (and who said he loved me) actually loved someone else! :( a friend of mine :(


“I love you†how many times have I heard you say that?
And each time you do it still sends the same thrill, but you think I don’t notice that smile,
The one that lights up your eyes when hear her name, the one that you never smile for me.
You think I haven’t seen the way the lightest blush touches your cheeks when you see she is around,
She was my friend first, and you were my love, you stole each other from me and now I have neither.
I stand here and know that you cannot see what is tearing at me, and I think I’m happy that you have found your person
But it doesn’t make it any easier, so I stand here alone and the falling rain hides my tears.
“I Love you†each time said in the same care free manner, happy and light, but I can’t help but wonder that if you did, if you truly ever loved me,
Then why am I standing alone?

 

Oh s**t, that sucks for you. But common, cheer up. You were happy when you helped me, so I am sure that you can get over this. Just remember what you told me.

Nice poem, it describes a lot of feelings in a good way.

 

This is one of the best ways to cope with a situation: write it out. I do it a lot and a good portion of the time, it helps me deal with it. Usually, the alternative is to dump it on someone else, but this works just as good.

Gorgous job, and I understand where you're coming from. This world is full of idiots, huh?

 

I agree with previous post. Man a lot of that reminded me of past relationships. But a nice poem still.
