Now that all "metal gear" games have been released, which one was the best? All of them are marvelous of course but which one stood out the most, which one did literally kick the most ass? Being a huge fan of the series I must say that MGS4 was the most spectacular one. It was a rush from the beginning to the end. There was something about the character being an old man that really gave this game a lot more of something. Even though MGS3 was also one hell of a game. "The cobra unit" rocked. But that's just my opinion. Now I want to know what your opinions are.
i'd have to say Guns of the Patriots because of it's ideological significants and the cultural aspect the events had effected.
Tie between MGS1 and MGS4. MGS1 - Massive nostalgia from playing it as a kid. Grey Fox was kickass. FOXHOUND is the best team of bosses I've ever played against. Beautiful theme music. Innovative for its time. MGS4 - Gorgeous graphics. Tons of gadgets to use and different ways to play. Raiden isn't copying Snake anymore. Flashbacks to previous 3 games. Epic in every sense of the word.
i liked the first game the best. after that, i liked Metal Gear Solid 3, and liked it ALOT, as much as i liked the first game. i didn't like Metal Gear Solid 2 or the fourth game (since the story is pretty much a continuation of the 2nd game). i didn't like the 4th game very much. i just was NOT drawn into it like the other games because i personally found both the gameplay and story tedious and boring.
The best story is a tie between MGS3 and MGS4. But I think I speak for all of us ( or not ) when I say that MGS4 had THE best game play system. But I say again: That's just my opinion.
It's also a tie between MGS1 and MGS4 for me. Both are amazing games. MGS1 wins story-wise, MGS4 wins in gameplay
Metal Gear Cobra. You get to play as the special forces team Cobra Unit as you infiltrate and sabotage various Axis power strongholds. The acts are divided into missions of which you use each operatives specialty and end in one big caper film style mission. Except with less casinos and more metal gear flavor. Fck yesssss But, seriously MGS4 as its the only one I've played.
MGSTT was easily the best. Whilst the second is my personal favorite, the remake of the original MGS cannot be beaten. Given epic cutscenes, a new soundtrack, and updated gameplay to go along with the original game's epic story and character is completely brilliant and worked perfectly in my book. MGS3 was bad and MGS4 whilst completely fuxing amazing can't top the first two
i loved that game as well, the only thing that i didn't like was the new music, i thot it was a little too "hollywood" like.
...The game had a scene from diehard and had the cutscene feel of the Matrix... It was meant to be Hollywood esque.
