I was just wondering. I'm planning on getting on soon. What do you think is the best one?

My first suggestion is definitely Final Fantasy VII. It's my most favorite game.

My second suggestion would be Final Fantasy IX. That game practically turned invisible because of all the newer Final Fantasy games, as well as the spin offs from Final Fantasy VII. It's actually a pretty good game, but it's hidden in the shadows with all of the older Final Fantasies, counting down from six. Somehow VIII seemed to stand in the spotlight a bit, even with all of the focus being on Final Fantasy X and beyond. IX was swept under the carpet, though. You just never heard about it, anymore.

    BEFORE YOU GET 7!

If you've got a PSP, please get Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core. Epic plot and its the first game in the FF7 series.

If you wanna play like a man, go for X because its turn based. Plot is badass and you'll be up till like 3 AM trying to beat Seymour. B|

Final Fantasy 8, 10, and 12 are the best.
I would suggest getting 8 the most, though.

Dude, how many times have you posted a different answer?

Anyway, I actually never played any of the games, but I actually like the X series, for it's characters, and the gameplay (from what I seen). But from what is said above, Dissidia is coming out in a little bit, and it'll be worth it's while if you get it.
    Good luck choosing.

Agreed with that, I nearly cried when my friend wouldn't give it back [ she did ]. Awesome gameplay and really great graphics.

I like FFX too, that has a really good story line

but wait till Dissidia comes out and see what happens.

    Man, I need a psp.

FF7 looks pretty good too, but it's hard as hell to find. Also, FF10 looks pretty good as well. I might get it.

I've only played, VII, VIII, X/X-2, and XII, and so far, I've enjoyed VIII most of all, followed by X (just started VII, so can't say). I love the sci-fi/fantasy story in VIII, and the emphasis on summons more than in other games. Also, I like Squall's "whatever" attitude and gunblade.

what I hate about seven is that I don't die, I get stuck, it's annoying going through the stupid mazes

FFIX or FF9 for the mentally ******ed. It's a more traditional-like Final Fantasy and is more Fantasy than the other more modern games which I would call Sci-Fi over Fantasy. Plus, it has one of the most awesome characters of all time, Vivi. Also, instead of having to use a skill system like Materia the characters learn skills from a set list using certain equipment for an amount of battles (basically until the AP meter finishes that skill won't be usable no matter what is equipt).
I think it's a good starting place and it's still my favorite FF.

EDIT: And you can find FFVII on the PS3 store if you have a PS3 (it's what i've done XD, i've not played it much so i'm only at the Chocobo Farm)
