Yeah, I was simply messing around with gimp. Still kind of experimenting around with what I can do. More or less, I was just bored and found this amusing. I found all of the pics from a google searches, and if you wish to use these, please give credit to me. Pure Awesome Spoiler Epic Scream Spoiler This Joke Has Gone Too Far... Spoiler C'n'C please.
They're pretty funny... it shows that you've got skills with basic features but what format are you saving your images in? PNG? JPEG? Just curious because PNG or Bitmap are higher quality formats...
I save in .png. When I was looking up tutorials, they all said that saving in .png was the best for quality.
It is. It leaves it in nice quality as opposed to JPEG, which seems like it's what you saved your sig in. Anyway, i think the gag pics that you're making are nice practice, and Scrubs is nice material, as Modern Family would be... :Awesome:
Really? Well, I'm always sure to save in .png, but stuff can sometimes happen over the internet. And yeah, I'm just seeing exactly what I can do with it. Scrubs will be a big part of my inspiration too. It proves both comedy and drama that would be good for this kind of thing. (I have yet to see Modern Family...)
Have you tried uploading to a site like tinypic or photobucket and using the IMG code on here...? It works pretty well. Also use HULU or watch on ABC because you NEED to watch Modern Family! It's one of the funniest shows I watch... and it's got some sweet moments for a GF cuddle... XDD
My stuff is uploaded onto photobucket, and I use their IMG code (I click the box that says IMG CODE and it copies it for me). Should I just be copying the link and manually do the IMG code? I'll probably look it up. I also want to see Cougar Town because it's made by Bill Lawrance, the creator of Scrubs, and the one with Niel Flynn (Janitor in scrubs). I forget the name of that one.
That's what I do and my stuff looks just fine. I guess it's just the quality of the stock you find...
You should try more a distinct and detailed background to make the flow of this a little more pleasing to see. It just kinda looks like the stock/render was slapped on there without any thought, when it should look like it flows all together, like it was meant to be on the tag/banner. You know what I'm saying?
for how simple it is, I really enjoy how funny it looks. The Deadman Wonderland one is especially funny. It's like a shadow smile at them. Keep up the good work. Sometimes simplicity has its merits
Thanks for all the advice guys. I'll definately look into some tutorials and think of some interesting backgrounds. While they do look simple, I did try to add some kind of depth to them (like the Harry Potter one, notice the color around Voldemort).
The tag still looks flat imo. If you want to create some depth in your sig, try blurring objects that you want to be far away or close up and sharpening the focal of the sig. Proper lighting and shading also helps with creating depth. I also suggest working with only one render since two renders in such a small space almost never works out well.
