I was curious how many posts I have made, including the posts I've made in areas that don't count. Since I only see 500 off my posts at once, I'd like to know how many I've actually made. I'm not asking to have them added to my post count, but if I could go under statistics or something and be able to see, that would be cool.

This sounds like a feasable suggestion, like under stats as you said. I too am often curious at to my "Actual" post count, rather than my one in secxtions where they count.

I think this is a good idea. It could go under the original post count and it could be called "total post count" or something.

I always wondered what my post count would be as well seeing that I'm mainly in Role-Play Zone and Spamzone

I don't see why we couldn't do this, but it may not be possible. :l

If it's possible I'm all for it, it'd make my job a lot easier, and any other mod's for that matter. Rather than going through threads looking for specific posts, it can all be done from searching all of that person's.

I like the idea of having a total post count under the counted post count. That way you could see whether or not someone was an active/involved member of the community if you can't tell that by their post count alone.

And then maybe the premiun requirements could be changed to be either 1000 counting posts or 5000 total posts. That seems fair.

No, people would start spamming posts in the spamzone (Yeah I see the irony)
    to make to the 5000 posts easier... ;-;

I don't think any rules need to be changed, just have it so on your profile, it shows total posts, including the post from sections that don't count. Still have the regular posts under your location like always.

If this is allowed, then what will the difference be from counting those posts anyways?
Who will be looking at the normal post count?
Everyone will start looking at the sum of the number of posts and not the original post count.

Honestly I don't think it needs to be a statistic under the legitimate post count, just accessable through the "Find more posts by _____" thing on someone's profile.
It'd still give you the total number of posts you've made, say if you're on page 10 it'll say "Showing 25 out of 1000 posts".
But no rules about reaching prem or anything like that will be changed.

It's pretty hard to spam up to 5000.

Anyway, I still think this is a good idea. I've always been curious about this.

Wait a minute how is that fair? Why would the rules change at all for counted posts just because we could see un-counted posts.

They wouldn't be changed. If it's changed so all posts can be seen (or at least a greater number), the rule for getting Premium will not.

oops ... I meant 1000, anywya, that idea didn't go down well. ^_^;;.

The original idea was a good one, I always make bad suggestion without thinking about them.

Umm... No. I just want to see the posts. This would bring chaos.

I'll be the one to regret informing you guys that this just isn't going to happen.

First of all, the query fetching the data on post counts does not store the ones that "do not add to the post count".

Second of all, the only way to do this would be through code modification of which I'm not even entirely sure exists for this to be displayed all. Even if a modification was made, it would only start recording the "total post count" from the day of the modification. Meaning that you still wouldn't see your "total post count" from the day you joined.

If you have any questions you can pm me, but I'm going to close this for the reasons listed.
