I start my first session (is that what you call it?) of night school tomorrow, and I realized that between my night courses that start from 6PM and drag on to 10PM every day and my job which pretty much covers my weekends, I'm going to have less free time on my hands. Before you say anything, don't worry, I always have time to make for you, KH-V. ;) Just wondering if there's anyone else on the same boat I'm on right now. If so, how do you deal with it? Any tips you'd like to give out? Discuss, mes gens.
well I can't say I'm exactly in the same boat, since I don't have a job, but I do have to manage my school time with the time it takes for me to finish my homework, and still manage to get on here
Well, I'm still in high school (last year of it, though) and my only real job is well, this, so I may not be the most reliable example. xD But what I'm planning to do is just to get all of my homework out of the way first. Typically, before staff, I always put homework and studying off to be on here, which resulted in grades being lower than what they should have been, and me getting grounded without the computer. However, since this is a job now, I can't afford to get grounded X amount of times just for not doing my homework. On the flip side too, since this is Senior year, these first few marking periods are extremely important, as it means making a last possible impression of your academic standings on colleges. Basically, I guess what I'm trying to say is that to find a balance, worry about getting all of your schoolwork done first so you don't have to worry about it conflicting with work (as well as school being important too). Probably not what you were looking for as a way of dealing with it, but I hope it helps some. :x
I were in the same situation where it got a bit overwhelming. But you'll just have to get accustomed to it.
I'll be in the same boat within a few weeks here. Working right now, college starts on the 26th of Sept. All night classes, 4 days a week. Haven't told my work yet but plan to very soon, since they seem to schedule me a lot of nights at the moment. The college I'm going to is new to me (just transferred) so I have no idea what the work load is like. I can't give any advice yet since it hasn't started yet but I guess I'll wait and see what happens here. I guess I'll just take less hours at work and work longer shifts on Thurs/Sat/Sun (the days I'm off class). Good luck to you though.
Well, I'm exactly in the same boat, but when I was a Freshman in the 2008 - 2009 school year, I had recently returned to school after being taken out of school and homeschooled for two years, but I would constantly put off my homework that I basically failed my Freshman year. My English teacher was nice enough to give me a P (pass). Anyway, just make sure to always do your homework first before doing other things. If it helps, put on some entertaining music while you do your homework, or even TV -- just make sure you listen and not watch. I hope this helps.
the biggest thing you want to do, is put this site at the bottom of your priority list. It might be fun and stuff, but you've gotta make sure you get your homework done right away, and then make sure you can go to your job without worrying about falling behind. If you've got time after that, than you're good on coming on here
