~ Author's Note ~​

Out of all of the RP's I've made, I have favoured and are most proud of "Birthstones" the most. I was a massive hit on my previous forum, getting comments of "beautiful" and "emotional". I was so happy about the reception it got given that I've decided to start it up again on another forum to continue its name.

I hope we'll all have a fantastic time being apart of it. Thank you.

~ History ~​

All the religions of the world mention the use of crystals or gemstones for protection, healing and contemplation, and as being a guide through the development of a person's individuality on a spiritual and material plane.

In every world's nation there has been and still exist experts who know the "secret" relationship between humans and stones whether through scientific methods, or through insight and identification with the matter. The effects and the use of crystals or gemstones are often mentioned in the astrology of the East and the West, and this science connects crystals and gemstones with the influence of planets and stars affecting the whole of living with the spectrum of their radiation. Determining the appropriate crystal or gemstone through the use of Astrology depends on the position of planets at the moment of birth, and if the influence of a certain planet is considered "disturbing", it is recommended that a person wears a certain crystal or gemstone to diminish or neutralize these negative influences.

Astrologers emphasize that since each crystal and gemstone is unique, the precise choice has to be made. They also advise that, if no person confident enough to advise us can be found, we should wear the crystal or gemstone for 3 days; if we don't notice any beneficial effects it should be put away and we should start seeking for the new one. It is only the correctly chosen crystal or gemstone that reflects all of its harmonious strength and wholeness by which it works, and the individual effects occur when the crystal or gemstone is being brought into contact with the skin of the person for whom it has been chosen. Possible effects range from strong to subtle ones, and every effect affects the psychological as well as physical plane; knowledge of which is familiar to the expert person and could be passed on to you, too.

Garnets are said to strengthen the body and mind. When cut properly, they are worn to enhance body and mental strength. Garnets ward off danger as well. During the Middle Ages, garnets were worn to ward off demons, night phantoms, bad dreams, and people with evil intent. It is said that wearing a garnet creates a power shield that protects against danger. In addition, garnets are used as healing stones to relieve skin irritations and inflammations. Garnets are also used to regulate heart and blood flow. Garnets were carried while traveling for protection during the Middle Ages. They were also given to friends for protection and a safe return when leaving the village.

Amethyst is believed to hold power in areas such as dreams, love, peace, protection, courage, happiness, healing, overcoming alcoholism, and many others. When placed under a pillow or worn to bed, amethyst promotes quiet, peaceful sleep, pleasant dreams, and also claims to heal tired joints and muscles. Amethyst is considered a meditation stone that quiets the mind, calms fears, wards off self-deception and anger, and controls addictions to alcohol. Amethyst is also said to offer courage to travelers, and protect a traveler from harm, sickness, and danger.

Aquamarine is a semiprecious variety of beryl. It is a pale blue-green color and has been associated with the sea and the element of water. In magic, this beautiful stone is worn or carried to enhance the use of psychic powers. As a magic charm, it is worn to ensure good health, to halt fear, to strengthen your courage, and for alertness of the mind. The aquamarine can also be used like an amethyst for soothing and calming emotional problems. It is a stone of peace, joy, and happiness. Aquamarine is also used as a protective gem while sailing or flying over water. Adding small diamonds around it enhances its power against danger. It is said that an aquamarine with a red center stripe is the most powerful of all the aquamarine gems. When exchanged by friends, aquamarine helps smooth the path of their interactions. It is a wonderful gift for a groom to give to his bride on their wedding day.

Diamonds are known as the Philosopher’s Stone. The Diamond is an ancient symbol of the ideal man whose divine spirit shines forth. In ancient times, diamonds were worn as unpolished stones. Diamonds were treasured for their beauty and powers. Kings who led battles would wear heavy leather breastplates studded with diamonds and other precious stones. It was believed that diamonds were fragments of stars and the tear drops of the gods, meaning that the diamonds possessed magical qualities of the gods and had powers far beyond the understanding of man. In 1477, the Archduke of Austria gave a large diamond to Mary of Burgundy. This is the earliest record of a man giving a diamond to a woman. A diamond is the stone of love. It is also worn to promote self- confidence and courage. In addition, it is a stone of protection and peace.

Emerald or Chrysoprase

Emeralds are also said to have magical powers in the areas of love, money, mental powers, protection, exorcism, and eyesight. Isis, the mother goddess, is said to have worn a large green emerald in her headband. All those who looked upon it were able to conceive. Emeralds, in business, can be used to promote sales and cash flow by visualizing the flow of green money into the cash drawer. While visualizing this, the person must wear a gold chain around his or her neck with an emerald attached and near the heart. The same process is used to attract love, visualizing the loved one being drawn closer to you. The wearing of an emerald bracelet on the left wrist is said to protect you when traveling from home or in forests. Rubbing an emerald on closed eyelids is said to relieve tired and weak eyes and restore the optic nerves. Emeralds were placed in silver or copper bangles to relieve arthritis of the hands, elbows and shoulders.

Alexandrite or Moonstone

Alexandrite is a color changing stone because it belongs to the chrysoberyl family of gems. During daylight, alexandrite is emerald green, but under artificial lights or in the dark it turns purplish red. Chrysoberyl is known for its fine cat’s eyes of greens, yellow-greens, and grays. Alexandrite is a very well known stone, but is extremely rare and very expensive. There are not many pure alexandrite stones, but they are now available as an artificially grown stone. The magical powers of alexandrite are luck, love, and change. Since alexandrite is a recently found gem it has few known magical uses.

Ruby or Carnelion

For thousands of years, Ruby was considered the stone of love, energy, passion, power, and a zest for life. Like no other gemstone in the world, Ruby is the perfect symbol for powerful feelings. Ruby is also known as the stone of courage, and legend tells us that a person possessing a ruby can walk through life without fear of evil or misfortune. Emotionally, it is believed that rubies improve motivation and the setting of goals. They promote positive dreams and clear visualization and aid in retaining wealth and passion. They bring up negative anger in order for change and removal. They also promote dynamic leadership. They bring a positive and courageous state of mind- one that is sharp, hyper aware and concentrated. They make you stronger during times of controversy or dispute and shield against physical attack. A ruby is also said to be a settler of disputes, having the power of reconciliation. A ruby is dynamic, and brings about passion and enthusiasm, attracting sexual activity. The uplifting and vital nature of Ruby is an encouragement to live fully, and embrace the joy of life that is missing in many people's lives. Ruby allows the fire of passion and love to advance. It helps to bring down the walls we build around us to keep others out.

Peridot or Sardonyx

The magical powers of the peridot are associated with wealth, protection, health, and sleep. Peridot wards off fevers and helps heal livers, affected by too much alcohol. Peridot was useful for calming anger and nervousness. The most effective form of peridot is when it is mounted in gold, surrounded with small diamonds. The ancients said it guarded against illusions, enchantments, spells, and night terrors. Ancient Romans used peridot to promote quiet sleep and get rid of nightmares. Peridot has many powerful magical uses when used with the vegetable herbs.

Clear sapphires, like diamonds, are the guardians of love. When give to one another it enhances love for each other. In ancient times, it was used to end jealousy and envy. Sapphires also promote chastity in virgins and insure loyalty in marriage. The magical powers of sapphires are in the areas of meditation, love, peace, defensive magic, power, money, and healing. Albertos Magnus of the 13th century, stated that when sapphires are worn, it cools the inner heat of anger. It is worn as a protection stone by soldiers to prevent capture by the enemies.

Opal or Tourmaline

The magical powers of opal include beauty, money, luck, and power. A quality opal has every color of every other birthstone. It can be used or combined with any birthstone for any spells, rituals, or any other magical needs. Opals have been used to develop more of an individual mental capacity and open unused powers of the mind. They are used to create a more creative imagination. Fire opals are used in money rituals to draw funds to the needy. They are normally worn on a gold chain, surrounded with ten or twelve small diamonds. Black opals have been used as power protecting stones for over fifteen centuries and bring good luck as well. White opals, when used on during a full moon, are said to bring the moon goddesses powers. In ancient times, opals were worn near the heart on gold chains to get rid of danger and evils during travel. Opals have also been ground up and used in magic potions to heal the body, get rid of bad dreams, and used as energy enrichment tools. The most magically powerful opals come from Lightning.

Topaz or Citrine

The magical powers of topaz include healing, money, and love. Yellow topaz is a gem that is used for protection, mostly against jealousy, intrigue, disease, and negativity. When mounted in gold, it is said to enhance these qualities. The most protective forms of topaz are rings, wrist bracelets, and necklaces, with the stone next to the heart. The stone is said to relieve depression, anger, fear, greed, and other negative emotions. It claims to be used against nightmares, restlessness, and sleepwalking, as well as regulating the stomach and other digestive and internal organs. Topaz, when used with gold, is used to improve the owner’s gold and money flow and has been used in the past for wealth rituals. When wearing topaz, it is said to bring about friendship, deeper relationships, and improve ones ability to give and revive love.

Tanzanite, Zircon or Turquoise

The magical powers of blue zircon are found in the areas of power, protection, love, beauty, peace, sexual energy, and healing. When wearing a zircon, it provides clear thinking and protection. Yellow zircons are said to increase sexual energy and attract lovers. It drives away depression, sadness, and self-pity. Zircons are used in business to promote cash flow and sales ability. They are carried while traveling to protect and guard the person. Orange zircons guard against jealousy. When set in gold, these magical powers are doubled. Red zircon has all the qualities of a ruby and is said to be a wealth enhancing stone. It is also used to attract lovers, for protection, and to ward off thieves. Many of the heated stones will eventually lose their color when exposed to sunlight over the years. The sun has a great power over this stone. It should be worn as a night stone and possesses the feminine energies of the moon goddesses.

~ Plot ~​

A distant land… a foreign country… 12 chosen bearers…

In a land, where four green islands rest under the sun each day of the 504 days of the year (42 days a month), a life of happiness and enjoyment surrounds each individual who resides there. However, upon the second largest island of them all, second to only the city island on which the royal palace resides, contains villages housing 12 students, each holding a different month to their name. All going to the same school yet many not knowing each other personally. It is these 12 individuals that feel the loneliness of life; living alone, going to school, coming back home again. The island with its large green, beautiful forests; pleasant, dusty pathways; large, simple, wooden port; cliff sides and springs within the forests. Not even this holds enjoyment for these people, although a certain thing may spark their attention. Still, what can life hold for them on this island and, when their older, within these four islands?

It is now, on the day when the last of these 12 students turns 16 years old, when a magnificent phenomenon occurs. Within a place of which no one has seen and of which no one knows lies a large, beautiful waterfall at the end of a large spring, residing deep at the end of the trees of a dark, mysterious forest in a land of which cannot be reached. Behind this waterfall lies 12 of the most unbelievable items known to the world, and they sense the spark of the 16th year of the twelfth bearer. They will now begin to call, sending out their stunning natural miracles, signs of their calling. For they want their bearers back, and their bearers shall come to call forth their guardian angels to make the lonely students’ wishes come true, in that place behind the waterfall – so call the birthstones…

~ Evil characters? ~​

Strangely enough, no. There are to be no evil characters within this RP. However, there will be magical and mystical obstacles and events that occur throughout the adventure which can cause havoc, terror, difficulty, flee and, of course, action. We can discuss these obstacles later on.

Biiru's Character Biography​

Character Name: Spencer Tirian (or Spence)

Age: 16

Chosen Birthstone: Topaz, Citrine

Preferred name of Birthstone: Citrine

Wish: Spence wishes for nothing more than to have a little sister, to love and cherish. What he doesn’t know though, is that this experience may grant him with one before the final destination… (Those interested please PM me)

Romance: No, although he wishes to be close to one female but as a caring brother, nothing else.

Hobby/Unique trait: Spence is trained in the art of hand-to-hand combat within the after-school activity and so he is very aerobatic and flexible. He can run up walls, backflip and jump high into the air. Because of his fit figure and light weight he is quite talented and so he is quick, agile and good in combat.

Weakness(es): Although he won’t let people get the better of him, Spence can be a little too trusting at times. Also, when things go wrong, he has the great tendency to take the blame, dropping his social and active morale.

Magic: Spencer has no offensive spells. He can harness powers of emotion and miracle.

The first spell that Citrine can cast for Spence is the ability to see into people’s hearts and what they feel about others and about themselves. It is with spell that Spence can understand more about someone, allowing him to know whether to keep his distance when needed or come in for support and friendship. He will not let this spell get the better of someone’s privacy however.

Another spell Citrine can conjure for its bearer is the ability to glide through the clouds. When feeling alone or saddened, the peacefulness of the clouds of the night can soften the heart, and that’s just what Spence could want when with these emotions.

The final spell that Citrine can grant for Spence is the ability to walk on water. A miracle like no other with no description needed.

Appearance:
Spence's dress style is casual and sporty. He often wears hooded jackets and cargo pants. Spence dresses also incredibly adorable, and his delicate, blonde hair reaches down just to the middle of the back of his neck, styled georgeously which has made many women glance in his direction. Simply, Spence dresses kind of "cool", but definitely NOT like a little hip-hop kid. His clothes are often a bit over-sized, and he often wears a neck scarf. He doesn’t use necklaces as to accompany his “cool” look however. Despite his "cool" look, he is very gregarious and hardworking, and isn't one to cruise around with a nasty attitude. His large, crystal blue eyes sparkle in all light and can easily see deeply into the eyes of others.

Personality:
Spence is open-minded and brave, and although he dislikes school, very intelligent. He likes to behave goofy and easy-going to make others feel comfortable and happy, but also at times can act and talk very mature, so is not to be taken lightly. He likes to be around others, and when he is alone, he uses the spirit in people to spur himself on. He carries courage and a sense of independence also, disliking to involve others in his problems. If others do become involved, he takes the responsibility for them on himself. Spence is very clever, with a sharp intellect and a snappy wit. He is quick to jump at opportunities, although he always foresees the consequences of an action and takes care of it accordingly. Spence is responsible, with a natural forthright curiosity that sometimes makes him appear innocent, but in reality, he is very stoic and does not let others take advantage of him. Spence also cares deeply about others. Spence covers up his true loyalty for his friends with a sometimes brash, selfish attitude, but usually only does this as a defense mechanism, or even as a joke. He has a natural charm and flair about him, making him an outgoing person, with a talent for winning trust and friendship.

Spence is very noble and not afraid to stand up for what he believes in. He makes no excuses, and finds an inner strength in his honesty. When he does make a mistake, Spence is not afraid to admit that he was wrong, accepting it and looking for the best possible method to correct it. Spence does have a spark of a temper, however, and can become defensive when he is accused of something. He carries an air of self-confidence, and although at times he likes to show off, he ordinarily uses this confidence to make others feel at ease and prove that he knows what he is doing.

Spence generally is guided by his heart, and would never disregard his feelings if he sensed that something is wrong. He is a deep, dynamic person, with a wonderful mixture of a pure heart and a sense of humor. Spence is strong and dependable with a warm interior, and almost always can respond to a situation with a smile. He is quick to defend what he cares about, and upholds a powerful sense of justice.

Spence is very courageous, adventurous, and loves stepping up to a challenge and he never hesitates to tell things like they are. Never hesitant to spring to the defense of someone he cares about, Spence is protective and never gives up. Though rough on the surface, and slightly rude with a smart-aleck attitude, Spence is very kind and loyal to his friends. He can, however, have very quick spark of temper and, because of his quick spark of a temper, Spence can at times be a little insensitive without meaning to be, but is redeemed through his inner honesty and straightforwardness. Fun-loving at all times, Spence is always ready with a quick comment or sly joke to cheer others up.

Spence takes on the role of an older brother to his female friends, being best of friends with all and behaving protectively. Spence and some males are very much like brothers, and fight as such. They constantly squabble and brawl in a friendly, affectionate fashion; their fights never being too serious or lasting long. Spence often gets caught up in matches of wit among his friends. Loyalty is a trait that Spence possesses in the truest sense, never betraying a friend and valuing others’ comradeship with him.

 

Character Name: Tyberius Osgood (Ty for short)

Age: 16, but soon to approach 17

Chosen Birthstone: Tanzanite, Zircon or Turquoise

Preferred name of Birthstone: turquoise.

Wish: Ty wishes that one day, he'll be able to change the world through writing, and that his school crush, Natalia, will notice him.

Romance: Possibly depending on the situation

Hobby/Unique trait: Ty is a gifted writer in his school, but keeps to himself and his notebook, always jotting down thoughts or descriptions around him.

Weakness(es): Ty's biggest weakness is that whenever one of his friends is emotional hurt, he can feels the pain and anguish more than that person. with this weakness, Ty usually stays quiet and ironically makes friends easily, which means he is somewhat too trusting. he's often considered the 'good guy', a curse of it's own.

Magic: Not the most willing to enter a fight, so he is one of the wingman in a fight.

A magical power Ty will learn is the ability to heal with his writings. To power can be used to physically heal allies or grant peace to ones mind.

his second spell he can use is his a creation of an illusion of a different location, which can be used to confuse an enemy or to escape from reality.

Another is called his end all, last case scenario known as: mind storm. It's a powerful attack that buffets the enemy with metal images, thoughts of confusion, causing them to go mad, eventually leading them to become anchored into a comatose purgatory.

Appearance: Ty is taller than most of his friends, between 5'10 and 6'. He doesn't have a set dress style, but he is almost always seen sporting different designed rugby jerseys, always with blue jeans and most always black flip flops.

Visually, he has crystal clear emerald green eyes, a pompadorean dark brown hair (think Elvis). he always sports a smile, whether good times or bad as a sign of strength to those around him. He also has a brown, with specks of gold goatee.

Personality:

Ty can not help but always being a friend to either the new kid in the school, or a tried and true dependable friend. the downside of this is that whenever one of his friends is hurt emotionally, he is always there and seems to absorb all of their heartache, resoluting in an always happy facade.

He is a brilliant writer in his school, and is always seen carrying around a notebook to jot down his experiences or thoughts. The notebook is a kind of defense mechanism for Ty, and in doing, leads life to some of his greatest works.

Ty is not one to back down from a fight, but he tries to avoid them as much as possible because he doesn't enjoy confrontation.

Whenever Ty makes mistakes or has his writings blown apart, he takes it very personal, because he is always trying to be the best that he can.

Sadly, he has been granted the title of 'the good guy', or the guy that everybody likes, considers cute, but no one will date him because he isn't a jock or one of the bad guys.
