Chain of Memories Axel's accent

So I finally got around to watching all the RE:chain of memories cutscenes the other day (boo on Square not releasing it here in the UK ).
Anyway was it just me or was Axel's accent all over the place? It's like Quinton Flynn hadn't quite decided whether or not to make him English, American or some weird mix of the two. It kinda grated on me in some parts considering how Axel sounds in KH2 and how much I like Quinton Flynn as a VA.
I don't know if RE:CoM was recorded before or after KH2, and that Flynn just hadn't made up his mind on how he should sound. Or maybe Axel just thought he should try going posh for a bit?

 

RE:CoM was recorded after KH2. And based on some of the interviews he's done for Axel, I'd say at the time he just didn't know how he should sound. Axel's voice is pretty close to his normal voice and the recordings are done pretty quick that it's pretty much a blur to him after he recorded. Not to mention RE:CoM's localization was probably done on a smaller scale compared to that of KH1 or KH2, so they probably weren't as strict on the overall voice direction.

 

I've always seen Axel/Lea as something of a Texan, being as I am one and I sound kinda like him.
