No Thanks Automatically Turn Links into the Thread Name

Before a vB upgrade on another forum, any time a thread URL was pasted, when submitting / previewing the post / thread, it would change the URL into the thread name.

For example, this: http://www.kh-vids.net/showthread.php?115517-quot-Name-log-quot

With an automatic text link thing, it would do this: "Name log"

The "Insert Link" is basically that, but this would automatically change said link to the thread name.

 

I really don't see a huge need for this. Plus I like doing it the way we always have. Making any form of text no matter what the name is as the link.

Automatically turning thread links into the thread name would be helpful to some people, especially when it comes to those long thread titles.

You know you could just type it in and then highlight it and then put in the link. That's what I did anyway. I mean it would make things easier I guess but it really isn't needed. I really don't care whether we get this one or not.

 

Yeah, that was just an example, and I agree with you, but I as I said in my response to Muscles, it would mostly be helpful to threads with long titles, such as the The "What Song Are You Listening to Now?" Thread thread.

 

You could just highlight the title then copy it then highlight the link and there you go.

 

If you were on a mobile device I would understand but it doesn't take that much to type out the name of the thread.

 

I don't disagree with you there, I'm just saying that it could be useful for some people.

 

I know it's not really needed, but for us lazy people it's pretty convenient.
I wouldn't mind having it around.

It's really not necessary though. But I'm not a 'no' on this. ​
