Heard this on ESPN this morning, The AFL has official been shut down after the last 8 months were unable to work a way around bettering the sport and finding better revenue. It's a bit sad because I used to try and catch at least one Blaze game a season because I found the sport to be new and interesting. Discuss if you like
I actually liked the AFL better than the NFL. I went to a Storm game once and even go to meet the players and cheerleaders. I also have the Arena Football video game which is a lot of fun. I'm sad to see the league go.
Agreed. Out here we don't have the NFL except for either the Bronco's, Cardinals or Niners, so the introduction of a new sport / team was exciting. I remember one game I went to that the atmosphere was more relaxed and even welcomed fans to participate after the game by going down on the field. The players were curtious and happy to sign anything and everything unlike the NFL.
I've only ever seen a couple of the games. Kind of sad they had to fold up. I'd probably have watched more if I actually watched tv more than I do.
