I've only had my ps3 since march and the controller is already having a problem.
While I was trying to finish Uncharted 3 last night, I noticed that when every time I titled my left thumb stick up Nathan would run and stop constantly. I thought it was a bug, but when I started up another game a little big ago I started having the same problem. Not sure on what to do here.

Any controller can be considered fragile, really.

    True...
Guess I'll have to go buy a cheapo deapo controller from gamestop until I have enough money for a real controller. =/

When i'm playing with it connected into a usb slot to charge, if the controller vibrates at all, the controllers shuts off. Don't know if that's normal.

But anyway, most controllers are a bit of a gamble, but i do think the PS3 controller is more fragile than the 360 one, in my experienced. Think it's worth buying another one for sure, but i definitely recommend searching online for more details on the PS3 controllers out there and how good they are.

I had a controller that had the exact same vibration problem.

I always have a minimum of 2 PS3 controllers, because when one breaks it could be a while before you can afford another one. I would save your money and avoid the cheapo ones, Sony are the only ones that have it right, and they know it, charge an arm and a leg for them.

What Misty is about to say.

I've had some struggles with my controllers, protip: you can get them for $25/$30 from ebay. I don't like using anything but the Sony official ones.

I've had the same two PS3 controllers for about 4 years now, and they're both still absolutely fine. Though, they are official Sony controllers.

Also never had problems with my controllers(have them both since 2009), a friend of mine broke several of his controllers, Sometimes is the kind of games you play.. he uses them a lot in fighting games like Street fighter and uses the analogs for combos (what I find strange... and yet I understand that the arrows at dualshock 3 are hard, and my fingers will ache after using them for long). So he always has loose analogs, never had this problem.

It'll still be a couple weeks before I have spending money again, just bought a wired turbo controller for about 15 bucks until then.
