yes, I can make separate topics for CD's. I'm that cool. but it came out today. what's everybody think? Personally, there are a few songs that stood out to me, but some of the others are just kind of... there. a lot of them song the same, which Rise Against has struggled with since Revolutions (although Sufferer was an improvement). And I don't know, for me the fact that all of the song are about Current Events are a bit of a turn-off. I mean, I know they're a very politically active band, but I'm not really up on this kind of stuff. but I guess they shouldn't have to cater to us all. I give it 3 1/2 stars. some good stuff, others are rather mediocre, but still worth a buy for long time fans.
Yeah Misty, I agree, not every song has to do with their political views. Probably why I like their older songs more. *shurg* I'd tell you my favorite tracks but my PC's being stupid and isn't detecting the album name or track titles. ._. Right now I'm listening to track...11, and I like it. Whatever it is. xD

My parents took away my driver's license (I dun know how I got a 32 F in Earth/Space Science :sweatdrop:), so I couldn't go out and buy it today like I was going to. Parents realize how bad I want it, so they said no. I'm ready to start stealth assassinating my family members. DOWNLOAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll edit this with my thoughts later.
I really like the new album. I've kinda blown off the fact that songs are about current events. I just kinda manipulate them into my own meanings. :D From Heads Unworthy, Audience of One, Savior and Whereabouts Unknown are my favorites. <3
Finally had a chance to listen to the full album. I must say I'm really blown away by some of the songs, though others could have had more oomph to them like the older albums. My favorites are "Whereabouts Unknown", "Savior", "Hero of War", "Collapse (Post-Amerika)", "Re-Education (Through Labor)", and "From Heads Unworthy"
I'm not really impressed with the album. I loved 'The Sufferer and the Witness', it was a really strong album, and songs were both catchy and post-hardcore, my favourite from them. But with 'Reason to Appeal' most songs are medicore at best, there aren't many hooks and catchy riffs and lyrics. It's definately more Pop/Punk than what Rise Against usually go for. Savior on the other hand is an fanatasic song, easily my favourite on the album, if only more songs were like that. Collapse is also a good song. I dunno, some songs seem to be missing something, I can't quite put my finger on what exactly. It could be that Tim's voice sounds more clean than the usual signature rough/soft sound, or the fact it's a more mainstream album but at the same time doesn't sound mainstream. Overall I give it 2.5/3 out of 5.
Re-Education Through Labor is on Guitar Hero: World Tour. When I listened to it on the CD, it didn't sound very good. But, for some reason, since I started playing it, it kinda grew on me. 'Tis a cool song, but I don't really like the rest of the CD. =/ Still love Rise Against though.
