    Nope. That's why you need Swap Magic.

    JP PS2 games are Region 2 NTSC, while US PS2s can only read Region 1 NTSC discs (US PS2 games).

    Swap Magic allows your PS2 to become Region free (although you need to boot it up everytime you wanna play an import/backup) and play any game of any region.

    oh, never mind, i was just making sure, cause right before i left the philippines, i made sure that i converted my PS2 to region free, so any game i play at any region without swap magic is a no sweat for me.
