i've noticed something. when an anime hits it's third season, it gets kinda boring and don't want to watch it.

    Yu-gi-oh!.
Should have left it at the two seasons. it had to go with that seal of oricalchos cr@p. it was a good anime and still collect cards.

    Digimon.
Enjoyed it very much in the 2ed season. i got really bored with it in the mid. of the 3rd season

    Pokemon.
Got borning during 2ed season. and it's still going??? just let it die, but keep coming out with the cards for the fans. i bet you have to collect 500+ monsters know.

    what do you guys think.

    These bring me back...

Yu-Gi-Oh!: After Battle City, they decide to get all original and do something that the manga hadn't done: introduce a new enemy. They basically go soul-stealing happy with everyone getting their soul taken except the Pharaoh. As LittleKuriboh said, the "bikers are a bunch of dorks." :xp: Come on. That stupid green seal that throws out every single rule in the book, effectively becoming a cheating device. The only good parts were that Pegasus made a comeback and when Yami went overkill on Weevil on the train ("This just isn't your day!" :D). Then after Yami summons back the Egyptian Gods to take down the Leviathan, it turns out that Darth attacks him one last time outside of a card game in a deadly struggle for his soul.

Then to get back to Domino City, Yugi's forced to go into another one of Kaiba's tournaments which had absolutely NOTHING to do with the overall plot other than looking into Mr. "Screw the Rules, I have money" boy's personal life.

And then they FINALLY do "Dawn of the Duel," where they throw out every single rule AGAIN and just show where the game originated in Egypt. We find out even though Zorc's only got 4000 attack points and a dragon for a p***s, the Egyptian Gods and Exodia can't take him down. However, we get to see Yugi finally step out of the Pharaoh's shadow and start kicking butt on his own. And the final duel between Yugi and Yami was epic. Even Kaiba admitted Yugi was the King of Games.

Then they go into the GX saga where Jaden is able to beat Yugi's deck, but get pwned by Kaiba (or in this case, Kaibaman).

So all in all, even though they extended it by adding in irrelevant plots, at least we get to see the old characters from the first two seasons try to duel our heroes one last time (i.e. Weevil, Rex and Mai)

Digimon: I've seen all four seasons. Haven't bothered with five. The first two were irresistible. When season three came along, though, since it was a completely different universe than the first two seasons, it was pretty disappointing. Digimon in the "real world" was pretty surreal and pointless. And when the fourth season came out, it gave a few of the voice actors from the first season the opportunity to play new characters (Matt from season 1 plays Takuya from season 4). The Digi-spirit evolution concept wasn't bad, but by removing the original theme song, it just seemed a bit pointless. And of course, they only have ONE girl in the entire group, which is sad unto itself. At least the other seasons had at least two.

In conclusion, not bad concepts, but after hearing about the Digi-destined in different forms, it becomes redundant.

Pokemon: Oh yes. The infamous Ash Ketchum. Enjoyed the Indigo League. Orange League was the ONLY League he beat. Johto League he finally manages to beat Gary. After that, there was really no point in seeing Ash and Pikachu destroy another girl's bike. I stopped watching midway through Hoenn. Battle Frontier is when they changed the voices (or earlier, I don't remember). I go, "No original voice actors? No watchy!"

Let the kids have their new seasons. At least in the UK, they managed to have spin-off seasons. Everyone in the US probably wanted to know what happened to all the friends Ash left behind. But sadly, 4Kids screws everyone over and decides to play it safe with the only heroic icon that everyone knows by now.

So, yeah. They should've stopped after Ash beat Gary.

In summary...third seasons will only work only if the fan base calls for them. If not and they continue anyways, they should've spent that budget on another show that needs it.
