These guys need to learn to adapt to new games, or suck it up and just get over the fact that Resident Evil isn't what it used to be.
And don't you just love the fact that they're relating it to Gears of War? I saw probably hundreds of those comments last night while watching a walkthrough of Leon, and those guys kept getting burned by all the other people. Don't you love it when people act like they have the know-all of a game and get it shoved right back in their face?

So has anyone here actually played the God damn game?

I have it. It is good. Not great. Not terrible. Definitely worth more than 3's and 4's. (in my opinion. Remember how you can have your own after you actually try it?)

Been playing with my brother and friend, and it's definitely at least a 7.5. Absolutely ridiculous for Gamestop to give Resident Evil 5 an 8.5, but 6 gets a 4.5?

I have absolutely no interest in the game whatsoever because from what I've seen it offers me nothing interesting.
Resident Evil peaked at 4 for me. Capcom had a chance to emulate the atmosphere and improve upon what Resident Evil 4 did with 5 but......well they didn't.
Resident Evil 6 looks more or the same like a more action packed Resident Evil 5 so I'm just gonna pass on it.
Perhaps if the gameplay offered something interesting other then "YOU GOT SHOT! NOW YOU FALL TO THE GROUND! JUST LIKE REAL LIFE!" then perhaps I would buy it.
But at the end of the day the atmosphere, setting and mood that settled within Resident Evil 4 along with the feeling of solitude and item management(seriously, **** Capcom for getting rid of this) plus the sweet ass bonuses made RE4 god tier.
What else should I expect from Shinji Mikami.

 

You should play Operation Flashpoint, it has get shot suffer for it physics.

I'm currently playing RE6 myself, it deserves no where near the flak its gotten from user reviews, but if you read through them you can clearly tell half of them are trolling, following some tradition that's been going on with metacritic lately.

If you liked 5, you'll like 6, I say it does what 5 did better, each campaign so far has actually felt kinda like different games, with Leon feeling more like 4 and Chris like 5, i.e Leon is more dark corridors and puzzles, Chris is more fast action and shooting.

Everything I’ve seen, and played has left a bad taste in my mouth. It’s not that it’s a bad Resident Evil game (which it is), but that it’s just a bad game on its own merit.

Its controls are clumsy and its UI/menus are awful and a bother to use. The story is predictable and uninspired in that it feels like a generic Hollywood action flick filled to the brim with the worst clichés.

It feels like one of those cheap games that tries to bank off the success of other franchises by copying them, except it's trying to jam elements of every single popular game into one single product. The problems with the gameplay are something you’d expect from a new, lesser experienced developer, not a veteran behemoth like Capcom.

I actually quite like the item menu, it's very easy to combine herbs on the fly. And once you get it in your head that you need to hold LT to stay in cover it works just fine aswell, overall really I don't have much issue with the controls, Leon's QTE's though go a bit too fast, I get that it's a Quick time event, but lighten up, i'm nearly 20.

I do hate the tripping over bodies though, that's just awkward.
