An idea I had

So! This idea popped into my head. Yes, it will be a crossover.

I was thinking the setting would be a "bridge" between worlds, working with multiversal law and there are times where the characters chill out with one another, leaving their own world sometime, and becoming "Multiversal Cowboys", traveling and accepting missions, like bounty hunts or treasure hunts on forgotten territories. Yet there will be villains wanting to corrupt the system, and take over every world.

What do you people think?

 

I honestly think that's a really interesting-sounding idea, and I'd definitely be up for joining up if this becomes a reality. Is there any other kind of input you're looking for, or are you just looking for interest?

Well, the first thing I'd say to think about is (and you don't have to say anything on the subject just yet, just think about it) what will be the main threat? Most crossovers that contain several universes have some kind of new and original threat that ends up showing itself some part through the story. The part of that you should be thinking about is what will that threat be, why is it a threat, and what will it take to defeat them, if it's anything other than force.
Then you have to think about the universe you're creating. Are there any specific rules about what universes are connected by this bridge? Are there universes that are off-limits for the story you're planning?

 

As I read this, I can't help but feel a bit jealous I didn't have this idea first.

If it becomes reality, then I will most likely join.

I'd buy it yes, but plot is my main concern. Will there be a strong enough focus that drives everyone together and can you develop it well enough to produce a favorable outcome. If you'd like help, I would suggest asking Dark about plot ideas and help. I and Hero are also okay candidates but he is probably the best.

 

I was thinking it would be a terrorist organization aiming to separate the universes, yet not at all caring who gets killed in the process of the "separation", meaning most people will probably die as a result of returning to their normal lives.

I was thinking about the name for the terrorists to be "Subspace Mountain", and I have a name for the leader to be picked out. A thing I need help with could be how their weapons work, like to consume energy from a single world to fuel the organization's ultimate goal, or to attack with a powerful force to be reckoned with.

What I could also need help with would have to been an organization responsible for uniting the "Cowboys" and fighting back against the terrorists.

 

Well, what kind of weapons were you thinking of? Modern-ish? Future-ish? Full-blown Sci-fi? Medival? Magic? Magic-Medival? Neo-Oldworld? A Death-Star main gun? All of the Above?

Perhaps planets or stars have 'Crystals' or some other source of benign energy, which the 'Subspace Mountain' organization tap into to harvest energy/Ammunition. The process could cause stars to stop giving off light, which would completely ruin the ecosystems on any planets in said Star's orbits. Alternatively, if the crystals were planet-based, whatever world being 'harvested' could have its life start to die out, or worse, have the life being mutated and corrupted into dark, chaotic creatures (as a side-effect of the Energy-mining).

As for a 'good guy' organization, I really don't have too many ideas, though I'm personally a fan of the good guys coming together through fate or random chance, flying by the seat of their pants. I honestly think that an actual 'Organization' for good guys can get a little too Authoritarian... (What? I'm Chaotic-Good! :p )

 

Well, I DO like the use of many weapons in a space-bridge crossover, so yeah. All of the above.
