One word says it all........ 4kids! They are one of the biggest of the companies that ruin anime, blame them.
Only some of them. The USA (cept not 4Kids) try their best to make it close as they can. There are some EXCELLENT dubs. And come on, how can you NOT love Richard Cox? His voice is like... -melts- -glomps teh Inu- Although I do admit... Kappei is love too.
I think you should just be talking about 4kids. It just kills every dub they do, except pokemon. xD And how can you hate Quinton Flynn's voice in the dubs? =3
A few things ruin anime for Americans. 1. 4kids sucks. 2. Our ratings systems for programs suck. 3. Some voice actors rape scripts and translations are wretched. I do often prefer the subbed versions over the dubbed and can say some 'fans' do a lot better subbing and translating than the professionals. Also, anime is not all for just kids and we still have people that even if the show is on Adult Swim, there are cuts to remove 'violence' or 'sexual' scenes. Seriously, people in Japan watch the shows like we do regular tv with live actors. So why we get crap cut out is beyond me. Also, I tend to find the Japanese voices, even if I can't understand everything they say, is superior. Some english speaking actors are really good on the dubbed stuff, but others just plainly suck. That's not to say all dubbed anime is bad really. There are some that came out pretty decent. We just don't get the whole stories though often and some are so bad that the characters are different than their Japanese counterparts.

What the heck does that have to do with Anime? Go take your biased political view somewhere else. To say that America ruins anime is also a very biased statement. It's like saying only Hong Kong movie directors make the best fighting movies whereas there are some pretty decent ones made in the West. There are some fantastic dubs, ya know? Just that 4Kids just ruins them with terrible dialogue and editting.
nah, its not america, it's the idiots that are the producers of the show in america. yu-gi-oh! sucks, be better if that they just stay with one thing. not GX, not any other seasons. they tried to make tmnt into a anime, tried to make alot of other freakin crap. pokemon tried to make more seasons they suck but the orginal was good because it was a earlier anime. it was good but others suck but. 4kids use to have good animes: shamen king, one piece. blame them.
I can't say I disagree with you there. All the American voice-overs could use some acting lessons if they want to be anywhere near as good as the Japanese ones. And of course, they totally screw up the translations and such. They also cut out small parts of episodes or entire episodes or entire SEASONS when they're "not appropriate for children." That bugs me. BTW, I'm mainly talking about Sailor Moon and some of the Hayao Miyazaki movies when I say this. Those are pretty much the only anime I watch...
I know Sailor Moon kinda sucked but i grew up with the dubbed one even then i thought it sucked but Sailor Moon skipped a total of 8 episodes in just one season
No hon, I think you mean 4Kids ruins anime. They've been known to ruins anime's like One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Sailor Moon, and everything else. (Except Naruto, thank god. >D) But luckly, I heard they've gone bankrupt, so maybe the terrorism that's occuring to our anime's will stop.
Sailor Moon was dubbed by Dic and Naruto was dubbed on 4kids? weird then the show would of started on the channel they go on and Yu Gi oh already sucked the first season that did not go to america was the only good one
Well, America totally ruined Sonic X and Tokyo Mew Mew (or, in America, "Mew Mew Power"). The voices and some of the lines are just lame.
No, but I heard 4Kids tried to get their grubby little hands on it. People are freakin' out about Naruto being "too violent" and "teaching their kids violence" and crap like that. I think all the sassy talk about the show is getting them fired up. My god, if you think it's too violent, DON'T WATCH IT. Goddammit, use your heads! But thankfully, Naruto belong to Viz, (or something like that.) I'm not going to complain about the VA's because I think they all wrock. XD
