Alright, well, for starters, I could explain the "Slenderman" theory. A couple weeks ago, my dads girlfriends oldest son(Robert) had told me about a supernatural being with a black suit, very lean and tall, with tentacles. At first, when he said that this apparition had tentacles, I was like 'Ha, yea right.' Since I was 7, when I moved out here, he is always known for trying to scare the heck out of me, but this time its different.

I decided to get the scoop on the "Slenderman". I googled and used wikipedia, all said similar things.

"A supernatural being with a black suit, long arms that can out stretch themselves, and uses tentacles to hypnotize its prey."

That was enough information for me, and I kind of freaked. Even being scared to death so many times as a young one, I never felt as scared as I do now. Maybe only because it seems so real, the others fake as plastic.

    Thats not whats bothering me.

Whats bothering me, is that ever since I have been researching this "Slenderman," I have been constantly waking up at 3:30 in the morning. I hear weird things at night. Whenever I see a tall guy in a suit, I nearly flip the hell out, and will literally start shaking-but I think thats just anxiety. I always feel like I am being watched or followed, and I cant help but think in the back of my mind, that someone is in the same room as me intently watching me.

Maybe its just my overactive imagination, maybe its not.

Can anyone explain why this is happening?

Just being delussional. I would say something here like "holy crap run. He lives he lives he lives." but I have been for this to happen to me as well. After a few nights of listening to Mr.CreepyPasta read the stories about Jeff the Killer, I could have sworn I saw the character everynight. Then I realized my mind, which is always looking for the next scare or story, was just acting up because I found the stories really entertaining. So trust me. Slenderman is not real, nor is Jeff the Killer, nor any other Creepy Pastas you read. That is all they are creepy stories that people tell to scare the pants off everyone. Now that I have made my point I must be off to other places in the world

Ohh that is a little creepy (I googled it.) Don't think about it to much. He's not real just something though of to scare kids like the monster in your closet(even though he is real). Joke :) It's just fun for older brothers to scare their sibling.

yep, no such thing as the supernatural. it's pretty easy to trick yourself into believing it's real. fear has a way of doing it since it's our most primal and basic emotion.

Ah slenderman is creepy, especially the pictures, but believe me, it is a myth all started on the internet. I even remember seeing the thread where the first fake picture was posted. It was literally a thread to see who could come up with creepiest photo shops and that one was the most popular. So no need to be scared any more!

So, don't worry about it at all. The mind is always playing tricks on us, when we feel scared then everything gets us- we interpret the same noises differently under anxiety e.g. if you hear a door creaking in the dark then normally someone may think "Burglar!" imeediately but in the day time it's just the wind.

I am the same, I keep dreaming about spiders and whenever I see one I absolutely freak out just because I associate them with the horrible nightmares I have about them. I was thinknig about them as I walked to school and I got myself so worked up over just the thoughts and I began to think they were everywhere, in the bushes, crawling up my back etc. Don't worry, it's natural to do this and the way to make it stop is to basically stop yourself, take a deep breath and think about the situation logically.

Of course spiders and the Slenderman are not the same thing but it's the same basic fear instinct so don't worry. Your mind is going to trick you into believing he's everywhere if you keep getting yourself worked up about it. Also, when you see a man in a suit and you don't want to look at them then force yourself to and think about everything that scares you about them and why these fears are irrational. It'll help you realise that men in suits are nothing to be scared of and it will help with time. :) Relax, you are completely normal- we all do this sort of thing at some stage.
