Allergies.

Don't know if there's a thread about this or not, but I just ate a chocolate not knowing it had walnuts in it and almost suffocated from not being able to breathe due to my throat swelling up.

I think you have allergies because of what your mum eats when she's pregnant with you, mine ate nuts and now I'm allergic to walnuts, cashews and pecans (But not peanuts, pistachios or hazelnuts, weird xD)

Discuss about why you think we have allergies and if you have any, what are they.

Well im alergic to some mosquito bites and that would be it. I have no theory because only this year have i had a recation to a bite.

 

Ohh, allergies are a b*tch... I've had so many bad allergy attacks in my life, it's starting to scare me >.< And then there's all the different allergies I've got... *shudders*

Anyways, I think my biology teacher said that allergies are partly inherited, or have something to do with some environmental things (I forgot what, biology-class was a good nap-time for me >.>). For example, my mom's allergic to hazelnuts, and I've inherited that allergy, but I managed to take it ten steps forward (I'm allergic to pretty much every nut, including almonds and freaking coconuts >:|). Both of my parents are allergic to numerous pollens, and my grandma is allergic to cats. I'm also allergic to many different pollens, plus cats, dogs, horses... My cousins also allergic to many things that I'm allergic to...

But, I have no idea where the rest of my allergies come from, I suppose life just wanted to screw me up or something... Yay for me.​

 

I hate my allergies. I don't even know where I got them. My father's allergic to pet dander while my mother is allergic to bees.

Me? A glass of milk is essentially suicide. I've been that way since I was 6 weeks old. As of late it's settled down some; I'm probably the worst chocoholic in the family. But I'm not quite willing to down a glass of moo juice just yet.

I think it's maybe partially inherited, but it makes you wonder how, especially in my case where neither of my parents even so much as hint as a milk allergy. It makes you wonder where it came from before that.

 

I have dust, mold, and cat allergies, and I also own a cat. :P my mold and dust ones make it difficult to run, and so now I have an inhaler, and have to go in every week for two shots in my arms. Great.

 

dang, that must suck....

I dont know how it feels because I dont have any... but the rest my family does... its weird...

Everyone in my family is allergic to something except me, weirdly enough. Lucky, though. Eh...I guess I can't be sure 'till I've tried eveything.

I have them b/cuz i inherited genes to have them T~T

 

My allergies are horrible.Especially due to my asthma.My very allergic to the smoke of cigarettes.And the smoke from fire.The smoke from cigarettes,make my eyes watery,my nose starts running and I can't stand anything.But to the smoke of fire,I guess I'm allergic to it or its just bad for me.The smoke from fire doesn't allow me to breath.It starts to sufficate me.I've been close to having an asthma attack because of it.And there are a few plants I'm allergic to.​

 

Well, I used to be allergic to Pollen, but not anymore. But I have always been allergic to cat hair. That's it though.

 

don't have any allergies except for hayfever.... I think we have allergies because everyone is built different

Your teacher's an idiot, not even a quarter of a walnut can kill me, I think there are other ways to be different than allergies.

 

i suffer from hay fever... i sneeze everyday// it gets really bad some days though

my friends like to count how many times i sneeze... im up to 13

 

my mum is allergic to seafood, and yet i am not XD
strangely enough I'm allergic to some kinds of flavoured popcorn O_O
i think its some kind presevative in it or something that makes me come up in a rash.

omg, my step-dad says he is allergic to dairy products like icecream and yoghurt and stuff and yet he can go through half an 8-litre tub of icecream in 2 days

 

I'm allergic to dust, and it gets really bad (imagine trying to clean my room? Two words: Night Mare) I have trouble breathing, can't stop sneezing, and my eyes water.

Really not helpful when it's the day you're renovating a new home, and you sound like someone who just inhaled an entire bottle of pepper.
