In class today I was REALLY bored so I started to stare off into space then my teacher said something that snapped me out of it. He said that aliens are out there waiting for us earthlings to come and rescue them. I honestly think that there is a alternate univers but if i font think there is any aliens that are in our reach. I think aliens is just science ficition...

Whilst I don't agree with what your teacher told you about aliens existing but waiting for us to rescue them, I do think that the idea that this is the only planet in existence where life resides is beyond stupid.

Of course there is life elsewhere beyond this planet, whether that life is an advanced species or whether it is just a bunch of bacteria cells riding around on asteroids I don't know, but I definitely have full faith in the existence of other life.

In fact in August 2001 a rain fell over India IIRC in which cells analysed appeared to be connected to a meteor airburst event:

I have the link to the PDF if anyone wants it, its an interesting read and raises a few really good questions.

Like CtR said, life in space is provable in the sense of microorganisms. Didn't think about the transportation of microorganisms on meteors, but it makes perfect sense.
If you're asking about sentient life, from films like Star Wars with aliens with blue skin, the chances are slim. Even slimmer if you believe in space faring aliens. We could be the most advanced race technologically in existence.
But again there is still a chance of it happening or has already happened.
But like I've said about alien life discovering Earth, why would they bother in coming down to us and saying 'take us to your leader' when the more obvious concept would be them to study and analyse us, accessing our knowledge and so on.
I personally don't know and don't really care about the subject since currently it doesn't affect my life majorly. I look up at the stars and just imagine the vastness of the space between here and the edge of the galaxy, while it expands. It's mind numbingly difficult to perceive such a thing, and that's the closest I get to thinking about aliens.

If we were alone in the Universe-Wouldn't out there be a massive waste of space?

That would imply that space serves an actual purpose, which I highly doubt.

Yes but I find it unlikely that earth is the only planet in this massive universe that contains intelligent life-I mean how likely is it that earth is the only place where life can survive?

Yes, I see your point. I was just confused when you used the term "waste", as if space is actually something that's meant to be filled up. :p

Do I think life exists outside of Earth? Considering how large the universe supposedly is, probably.

Is it anything like life as we know it (as in, are aliens little green men or some bullshit like that)? Probably not.
