To find something online, you press CTRL + F. Writer programs, like Microsoft Word, OpenOffice Writer, etc., take a step further and you can also replace them.

For example, if I have a document with a lot of words, and I want to change "help" to "assistance," and there are 50 instances of it, all I have to do find the word "help" and then replace all instances with "assistance."

I think adding that feature to the editor here would be quite useful.

Do you mean within a post you're writing up? You can just copy what you're writing into word or notepad and use the built-in feature there.

    Yeah, in the editor.

The only issue I see with that is the formatting. Take a look at my Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King General Character Information thread (link is under Current Forum Projects). I had to remake the lists even though they were already lists in OpenOffice Writer.

The only alternative solution I can see right now is to switch to the BB code editor and copy and paste its contents into a document and do it that way. Then I'd copy and paste them back into whatever post here.

    That's what I would do.
