"Can I have one ticket for The Family?"

"Yeah, $7 please."

"Why's it so cheap?"

"That's our standard price."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"Every day?"

"Yeah."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah."

"Really?"

"Yes."


The alternate title of this thread is 'how not to purchase tickets at a movie theater.'

Huh, must have been neat to have a Hideo Kojima character as a customer.

 

You should've told them that you were joking and then triple the price.

 

$7 is pretty cheap for a night show though.

Yeah, I just paid 12USD for Riddick and the only place I could find showings for less money is the kind of place where you just assume that's a crack deal going on in the back row.

 

tickets here are close 2,50~5 dollars, with it is 2D, 3D can be way more expensive.

 

What the hell? Why are you not experiencing the pain of having high movie prices like the rest of us? That's so not fair.

I actually went to see Percy Jackson yesterday (which was really nice), and the stupid AMC theater only considers matinee movies to be before 12:00pm....so basically lunch time. After that it's $9.00. I could take that just fine......if the matinee wasn't done by a ridiculous time!!!!

Because I am brazilian, and our currency worth half of the dollar, at the same time the prices of theaters are made to fit the "minimum wage" that in here is R$636 , that would be close to $300 of dollar, no point to charge more to see the movies if people can not pay the price, overall the profit comes from the great number of people seeing the movies + the ads. The joke is that while our movies are cheaper, our games cost $100 dollars.

 

Same with Australia, which I believe has the highest retail price for video games. I remember seeing new games go for around US S120 around 5 years ago.

 

I doubt that many of you are middle-aged men that somehow still have peach fuzz and who reek of cigarettes. I could be mistaken, of course...

I was actually really tempted to do something like this lol. Or just reply to one of the reallys with a no and see what he would have done.

@ that is pretty cheap: We're a small, independent theater so we are really cheap. Our matinee & Tuesday pricing is actually even cheaper (just $5). I'm used to people being (pleasantly) surprised by the price (or getting pissed when they have to pay $2 extra for 3D), but never do they hassle me like that lol.

that is cheap. a night show can be like $10-12 at a ton of theaters.

 

Not even close. We regularly get people who are high or drunk, people who are violent, people who smell horrific, people who come in several nights in a row wearing the same outfit, and so on.

How do you deal with the drunk and violent ones? I mean, with the latter, do they get violent with the employees personally or just in general? :x
