Action to romance?

C'mon! it's happening to the best in the movie biz, all movies are going all romantic!
It's okay once and a while, but now it's just plain stupid!
look at Die another Day... wasn't that good? now look at Casino Royale... blech

What happened to the good ol' action genre?

 

I don't mind romance in movies but only up to a certain point. It depends on the type of movie. When i go to see an action movie i don't particular want to see much or no romance.

It's really annoying how you go to see something that you think is just going to be action, action, action...and it turns out to be romance. I mean, I like romance a lot in books and fanfics, but it's always the same story over and over in the movies. It's really boring...

And then they pull it into a movie that could have been great without it. Blech! It just ruins the whole thing!

Romance has even been taking over comedies... I barely ever watch movies because of this hostile takeover.
Shrek 3: some romance (blech... ogre romance)
POTC3: Romance
Spiderman 3: romance...

Its getting annoying

 

Dare I say it? I agree. (Big surprise.) I think you must be the long-lost other side of my brain.

Casino Royale was also romance-y to the point of being boring, as was Pirates 3 and Spiderman...just as you said.

 

Advent Children even had some romance... but only a little...
Almost every anime and show has it too... gawd, these directors are lonely

 

Advent Children didn't have enough for it to really be annoying...only a tad bit awkward.

Yeah...if you think about it, romance has invaded every corner of our entertainment industry.

Music, Movies, TV, Magazines, Videogames and everything else, Video Games, not so much tho...

 

Yeah, video games are pretty much spared...on the most part. It's still there, though.

Books. You totally forgot books. I remember the time when the only thing I would care about reading were books about horses...and now I can't pick up a good book without finding it stuffed full of gushy romance scenes. Twilight, for example. An amazing book, but the romance gets old after a while...even if it is one of the main plot focuses.

 

Romance in books can be annoying if excessive, but romance is okay in books.

 

Sort of...to an extent. It gets annoying when the whole book is just romance after romance after romance.

In little bits it makes the whole thing more interesting, though.

Yeah. I totally agree...but it's not like they're going to change everything just because we don't like it. They're huge companies...we're just people with opinions.

 

I know... It's always good to express opinions though.
