I'm curious. What do you people prefer listening to when it comes to guitars? Or if you can play, what do you like playing more? An acoustic guitar(nylon or steel string) or an electric guitar? Personally...I prefer the acoustic. Before I learned how to play I didn't really care much about it, but now that I know more about "stuff" I'd prefer an acoustic over an electric any day. Although that doesn't mean I'm not desperate for an electric guitar though. >->;; Eh. The only thing that annoys me is when people think something is good just because someone turns the distortion on an electric all the way up and just does something stupid with it...<-<
I love both, but I like listening to acoustic better. It sounds more natural to me. And I usually hate distortion on electrics entirely. I have an acoustic, and that's what I use. I've only ever played on an electric once. It was SOOO much easier to play compared to my steel-stringed acoustic. It was nice for a change, but I think I still prefer to play acoustic.
Since I tend to play both every once and a while, I still go with acoustic. The only reason I like the electric is because of amps. XD I'm starting to play the acoustic more since I guess it's more louder than the electric. I think that learning the electric is a little easier than acoustic. I don't know. But when I do want to play the electric, it's pretty much when I don't feel like using the acoustic or I want to use the amp. XD
Acoustic 8D It makes such a nicer sound, plus acoustic is far more sexy ;3 I mean, come on. Try and picture a guy serenading to you with his...electric. xD
I love to play the electric guitar...It's fun. Very fun...xD But I love the way acoustic music sounds. So prettyyyyyyyy! ^^
Since my electric needs new strings at the moment and it sounds like a dying giraffe I'm gonna have to say acoustic. Although I usually play my acoustic simply because I'm too lazy to set up the electric.
Acoustic. It sounds much warmer, and the strings aren't as breakable as the electric guitar. I've had a lot of trouble fixing the strings of an acoustic guitar though.
Totally different sounds here. Of course an acoustic is going to sound more natural, it relies entirely on the hollow body to resonate the strings' vibrations. The vibrations on an electric goes through pickups, which are generally electro-magnets. The two versions of the instrument do completely different things. The acoustic sounds cleaner and more natural while the electric is more versatile. Just don't tell me to play an acoustic bass. Unless you're playing country, that is an entirely useless instrument.
It really depends on how I feel at the time, it also depends on the song, sometimes a song doesn't sound right if played with Electric but sounds good in Acoustic and vice versa. I don't play, so I can't judge it from that angle.
