The classic Madeleine L'Engle novel is being adapted for the big screen by Disney. Ava DuVernay (Selma, Middle of Nowhere, 13th) is directing the film. The cast as revealed so far is as follows: Storm Reid (12 Years a Slave, Sleight) as Meg Murray Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Belle, Concussion) as Dr. Kate Murray Chris Pine (Star Trek, Into the Woods) as Mr. Murray Deric McCabe as Charles Wallace Murray Oprah Winfrey (The Oprah Winfrey Show, Selma) as Mrs. Which Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde, Walk the Line) as Mrs. Whatsit Mindy Kaling (The Office, The Mindy Project) as Mrs. Who Levi Miller (Pan, Supergirl) as Calvin O'Keefe Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover, Birdman) as The Happy Medium André Holland (Selma, 42) as Principal Jenkins Bellamy Young (Mission: Impossible III, Scandal), Rowan Blanchard (Girl Meets World, Spy Kids: All the Time in the World), and Will McCormack (The Sopranos, In Plain Sight) have also been cast in unspecified roles. The film is slated for a 2018 release.
