some kid made a death note in skool and wrote some names down(probably his enemies) . He got suspended and the board of education is gannah keep they're eye out on any other Death Notes.

They way I see it if people keep making death notes then get caught with them , just like in China Death Note is gannah get banned from the US (or in your state).

I think this was already made. :/

oh and who gives a crap if some kids write 'death note' on the front of a book and writes a couple of people's names in it? It's not like those people are really going to die after 40 seconds. xD

Ridiculous. TV influences too many people nowadays. But I don't see why the school made a big deal out of it, kids at my school have things like fake Death Notes at my school and no one gets in trouble.

you can be in my angry mob if they ban the sho ^^........

the situation could have been worse he could have actually killed the people that he wrote in his book if that happened I think death note would have been on the banned list.

o and the website the vid mentioned was an unoffical deathnote site not the offfical one which is owned by viz media( just in case u didnt kno)

    EDIT:

A person not knoing what death note really is must have gotten scared because the saw their name in it and seen how the guy wanted them to die and they took all of this to the skool administrator. So if a single person makes a big deal out of it then the skool have no other choice but to deal with the Death Note owner.

This is a sad case of people overreacting to something. This is a story and if anyone thinks that by writing names in a book they can actually kill someone they need some serious help. Trouble is that this may spark a knee jerk reaction. If something bad happens then the Powers That Be have to blame something and yet again animé and console games will be pointed at with the irrational cry of "Evil". Lets face it, we all played some form of superhero or 'cops and robbers' games when we were little but we are not serial killers. It's about time people learned to separate fantasy from reality.

I'm sorry but i couldn't help but to laugh when I watched this on YouTube.

Those kids seriously need to grow up :/ the notebook is not real and it will never be for God's sakes and the adults take it so seriously,I mean they can't be that stupid to realize that there is no such thing.

My friend has a Death Note and he looks like a ****** writing names infront of my face and refuses to show me his notebook.
    It's ****ing hilarious.

lol. he thinks he can play God =/

yeah. uhh, it's threatening, but seriously, its not like a paper is going to kill someone.

like, the atomic bomb wasn't filled with paper.

    Old newz =/

I got put on emergency expoulltion for my Death Note.

I was out of school for 2 weeks... meh, no big deal.
I haven't got busted at my new school for it yet, though.

And I have tons of names in it.
here's a funny story - I wrote one of my teachers names--IN BLOOD--- then swallowed the scrap of paper i wrote it on... the next day she apparently had a "medical emergency" and we haven't seen her since.

    I laughed.
    A lot.

But so far I haven't got busted for any of the students names =/

@Tootsie: We don't do it because we think they'll die, we do it because its amusing.

Now if we look onto the parents side of this, I actually can understand being scared in seeing your own daughter's name ect in the Death Note. It has nothing to do with their beliefs or religions. I think it's more of a "This person hates my daughter/son so much he/she wants her dead!" That is how the adults are seeing it. Also with everything going on now it's hard to tell who's joking and who really wants someone dead, and they express it by writing their name in the Death Note. It can be harmless fun yeah, but sooner or later someone's gonna break and really kill the person after writing down their name in the book as well as their "Murder Technique" as it will probably be. That one person will be the voice of the banning of the series, probably. Because everyone should know and understand that this is not the time or period for gags liike that to happen. The entire world is strong-end right now, the relaxing period in 1990's has been over, and it's taking time for people to get use to it. Because it's obvious in 1990's this type of thing would be ok, however now it won't be.

Like Xenogears, how heavily religious that game is it wouldn't have seen the light of day int his millennium.

You make some excellent points, Xal.

I mean, for christs sake, this is exactly what the plot of the show is about.
Society phails, and eventually someone is going to be stupid enough to actually murder someone after writing their name. Thats just how the world is.
We already got the Belgian murders to deal with (All that "watashi wa Kira 'dess'" CRAP)

... This is hilarious. Even I have a Death Note. I made it for an Art project and got 9/10 because I messed up the spray paint coating on the spine.

And it's downright hilarious to put peoples names in it, and attach the must unthinkable ways of someone dying in it. [Like getting mauled to death by a christmas ham.]

._o But yeah, I can see the whole over-reacting thing. Mum was like "WTF? BUUUUUUUUUUURN IT!!!" [Namely cuz she's biased against 'Black Books', and having 'Death Note on the front didn't help much either.] After a nice talk however, I managed to convince her that it wasn't anything evil.

People tend to act on their collective predjudices. Once they have something that supports their beliefs, they believe that it is right, and as such, see anything that opposes it, as evil. Things that look like Death Notes have long been associated with assassins and medieval Witches and the like. It's only likely that they over-react initally. But once they become well informed, they cool down to a level of tolerance.

._. It's quite amusing to see the whole process play out actually. Especially when someone says "I hate it!" and five minutes later, they're like "I love it!".

COOLIO, people who have Death Notes are cool XD but i would understand what Xaldin said about the parents being scared that somone wants their children dead. so i wouldn't mind banning them becuz they cause more trouble then they are worth (the novelty, COOLNESS, etc). i know i think it's cool. and i love my friend for giving me one even tho i only watched one episode of the anime. it was sooo cool, i innocently mentioned that i sort of had a hitlist (half joking XD) and then the next day, she brought over the DeathNote she ordered online and i was like "WHOAAAAAA". it had like 100 pages of rules but there were some names written in it (prolly form the anime). anyways, i think the parents fears are somewhat unfounded but i can see their side as well, so i'm pretty neutral about it.

Ya i agree these people are just overreacting, but some one that hasn't seen the show could think it was a
    hit list

ah c'mon, he was just writing down names and imagining them dying..... Whenever he'd see them again
he'd just ignore them and think: they're dead..... He'd se them as a ghost from then on and he would
have a feeling that he got his revenge.......
