Digital Art A sad attempt at making a sig.

A VERY sad attempt at making a sig. I downloaded GIMP last night... And, well, here's what came of it.

Honestly, it needs a bit more to it. And the big blocky text doesn't do well either. I'm sure a bit of tuning could help it look better.

 

See, I know how to put effects on... With Photoshop, I used GIMP for this.

Yeah, it does suck. T.T

 

Oh ok, I guess the two probably are drastically different.

 

Yeah, but if I start getting good with GIMP, I might look into getting Photoshop.

 

trust me GIMp is great. I used it too and its pretty easy. go search gimptalk.com and go to the help forum. There you will find many easy-advanced tuts on gimp. As well as a few of my posts.

As for the sig...colors don't really match and render is not blended in at all. Backgorund is too plain. Like I said try some tuts and you'll get a lot better at GIMP.

Hm, it's a start. I'm no professional either but follow a few tutorials and you should be good. If you're a beginner, like I know you are, never attempt a sig from scrach, always start off with a turorial is what I mean. Oh and if you want to adjust to the GIMP, adjusting to Photoshop won't be as easy as you think. But for a beginner, not bad. Keep it up, you'll become from a novice to a pro sooner than you think. ;)

 

Erm, it's ok. Better that what I come out with. (I have Paint Program, everything's a JPG and there's limited tools. The only special thing it has is invert.)

 

GET PHOTOSHOP NOW. =P You're better off.

Anyway, it could use a lot of work. The text should always be on the highest quality, usually it'll be one sharp, smooth, or strong. The bg could use some contrast, and lighting.

hey it looks good! maybe the size is kind of big esp because it's just a picture of sora. it might look less plain if it's smaller. also, look up some really cool fonts at dafont.com. they have awesome stuff. keep making sigs!

 

You're lucky I don't know how to make one at all.

-we are studying GIMP in our computer class for 2 months now and i stll didn't get it

the background looks pretty cool XD. im gonna try something like that. the only problem i see is the render since it's just plain and all. im not sure what kind of stuff gimp has but if you made sora match the background more by making him more blue or something, that'd be cool.
