Unless there's already one that I don't know about. *looks around*

Yours is not all that different.
They both take you to random threads.
So, really, this will be rejected too.

That rejection was very likely applied after the move where that add on would not be possible.

I wouldn't mind looking into it if there's some more interest in it. Dunno if there's one available for XenForo yet, but I can check later on.

Necrobumping is still against the rules. If this was implemented, then we would probably get a lot of old threads being brought back and leaving no room for newer, more relevant threads.

A better way would be to use threads whose last reply was within the last 30 days, and that you haven't replied to/viewed yet. Or, if you're really active and have seen/replied to everything, go outside, seriously then it could redirect you to one that you haven't viewed/replied to in a while.

This is theoretical, I don't actually know if the site can do this.

Necrobumping is not against the rules as long as you are genuinely adding to the discussion. Also, you guys shouldn't feel limited by what was suggested several years ago... it's very possible circumstances and attitudes have changed.

This sounds like an interesting idea. If you could put a filter on it (what sections if you want something specific [creativity corner] or a time frame if you want something recent), it'd be even better. A random thread button, though, just seems...amusing to have.

I can see it now: someone wants a nice read. They go to the Writers' Nook and click random thread and can filter it by...prefixes for example, if they want a specific genre. Or maybe go to one of the KH sections and learn something new. Kind of like a StumbleuponKHV button.

It's like a sub within a sub forum but only... randomized. I like this alot. D:

I checked and could not find one available. I can see if a dev would be willing to create one and get an estimate from them, but this is pretty low priority currently.

that was like a million years ago where most of the members (and half the staff) were different people, it's a new era, and quite frankly many of the suggestions were brushed off because we used VBulletin, which was nice, organised but had it's limitations, we didn't switch to Xenoforo just for looks... and honestly, I would love a randomizer either way, you never know what you'll find in the depths of this site.
In my opinion this addition would increase the flux of and encourage people to post more often, because they could randomly find something of their liking.
