A Pirates Life

This is a role play based in the world of One Piece. Though this story will have little reference to the anime/manga. It's just a role play based in this world, so no knowledge of One Piece is really needed.

Hirac after years of thinking decided to become a Pirate, but he needs some Nakama's

And you other role players will be a part of the crew. Those who create a profile before the story begins. Will be a part of the crew straight away, but those who join in after the story has begun has to somehow become a Nakama by intergreting it with the story (if you know what I mean)

The story is totally open ended, the fate of the crew will be decided as the story progresses. Will we try to find One Piece? Just search the Grand Line for treasure? Get revenge from another Pirate Crew? Who knows.

We will also decide the names of the crew, and boat as the story begins.

As the story progresses, and as we get more attention from the World Government, certain members of the crew may get bounties.

There are 2 crews to choice from, the one lead by Hirac, and the other by Vincent, as it appears Vincents crew appears to be the more evil crew, so pick whatever crew you want to join.

Since this is a One Piece world, there will be devil fruits, but there use will be optional. All devil fruits have the same side effect, you can't swin, which when your a pirate is a very bad thing. There are 3 types:

Paramecia - These alter the user's body in some way, For example: Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Mi, which changes the user's body into stretchable rubber.

Strengths: Grants the user the ability to do a trait that can be classified only as 'superhuman'.

Weakness: The Paramecia type is also the group that contains the powers or special traits that are considered 'useless' to the user, granting little or no real advantage what so ever. Paramecia types are also the easiest to fight against because while the strengths of their powers give them an advantage, they also make them easy to predict and often their abilities are displayed to their fullest within a very short period of time.

Zoan - Allows the user to transform into an animal. This fruit provides three forms: the user's natural form, a full animal form (where the animal's size is often greatly exaggerated), and a hybrid form, combining both original and animal form (usually in a bizarre way).

Strength: Mainly improves physical abilities and allows the user to use his or her 3 forms to adapt to a situation during a fight to find the form that gives the biggest advantage. In their hybrid form Zoan users experience enhanced senses as this form uses a combination of both animals abilities. This fruit type is most useful when applied to objects such as guns or swords, giving a otherwise inanimate object life and increasing its value to the owner of the item.

Weakness: They are limited to the capabilities of the animal they are able to transform into

Logia - With these fruits, the user may actually become a natural element in its entirety. Ever since their abilities are gained, they are neither completely human nor element in their default state. However, Logia users have the option of turning completely into their element if they so wish. This is often used for crossing great distances quickly, or avoiding blows should their weakness have been discovered.

Strength: The most powerful of the three groups. Even in their default states, Logia users are near invincible, taking no damage from physical attacks. For example, a blow can pass right through the user, while he maintains the rest of his body, and even can hold onto objects at the same time. If the ability is honed well enough, the user can manipulate anything related to their element

Thus far there have been very few ways in which a person may do physical harm on a Logia user. The main method of causing harm to a Logia user (aside from exploiting the effects of the sea and seastone) are natural weaknesses which, when exploited, can ultimately negate the Logia power

Of course, you can not use a Logia devil fruit for obvious reasons (too got damn powerful) lets leave it for the enemies.

Special ablilties: He can control wind.All he does is fly,control the direction of wind,and make wind blasts of various forms,such as a long thin sliceing thing that cuts alot.

Background: Masamune Date is a natural born swordsman. He had no parents,and fought for himself.One day,he was discovered by a wandering samruai who wielded 6 blue swords at the same time.The man took him up as his student,hoping in one day for Date to succeed him and teach others of his style.He was easily learning and quickly defeated many opponents.Date fought on alongside his master in several battle together.One day,his master was killed by an unknown man with a big sword.Masamune took his masters blade in revenge.He held a long and powerful rage for this man,who he promise to one day kill.

After a few years of traveling and fighting several other swordsmen,which he traveled by sea to fight.The government put up a bounty of him because he killed so many swordsmen that were helping the military.He hid from people and found refuge with a girl and her family.He lived with them for awhile.He was captured a few days later by the Navy who were going to execute him.The girl visited him one last time to give him a shred of food she found close to the ocean.She gave it to him,and he was immediatly rejuvinated and found out that he gained powers of wind manipulation.He defeated his captors,and escaped.The little grl went back hom and spread the news of a samurai controlling the wind.

When he escaped,he continued fighting under a new alias.The Dragon of Oshu,a place that he fought the most amount of battles in.Date won all of those battles.Awhile after fighting,he decided to join a group of ragtag pirates inorder to travel more.That way,he would fight more with his 6 blades.He was still motivated by revenge against the man who killed his master.He still searches for clues on his wearabouts.Date spoke,"I will have my revenge for my master,me,and my destiny!!!"He used that as his motivation and went on battling more people,still not calling himself a true samurai until he defeats his masters killer,therefor proving he is stronger than his master.

Reasons for Joining the Crew: He wants to start his career as a master swordsman.He will try to gain more strength even though he was already an excellent swordsman.

Weapon: One Katana
Special ablilties: This devil fruit allows him to pass electricity currents through his body, which he can use to enhance his speed and power. He also passes the electricty through his katana to do a Thunder wave attack, along with many other things.
Position: Captain
Background: He was taken as a kid by a group of pirates. Who captain was Bloodbeard, they destroyed his village. And was forced to serve under him for 5 years. Though it wasn't all bad, since they taught him basic fighting skills and how to use a sword. But one day he found a devil fruit. Thinking it was some normal fruit he ate it and received his lightning powers. After Bloodbeard found out Hirac was forced to run away from the crew. After 2 years of hiding and exploring, he finally decided to form his own crew, and travel the Grand Line.

Devil Fruit: (optional): As much as I'd like to, I'll be the normal marksman XP
Weapon: (optional): Modified Rifle, dual pistols
Special ablilties: (Devil friut powers, attacks, something that makes your characters special, e.g. sword abilites etc) Instant reload. Has developed a technique for reloading in the blink of the eye. Runs through ammunition quickly, but can fire off rounds far faster than a normal marksman. Also, is incredibly accurate at both long and short range, thusly why he carrys both a rifle and two pistols.
Position: (can't be captain): Gunner/Marksman
Background: Andrinor was trianed his whole way as a gunner, from an early age. After defeating his mentor in a dual, Andrinor has decided to travel the seas, looking for an opponent worthy of himself. After fighting Hirac, and being defeated, He decides to join him, in the hopes of one day surpassing his captain in skill.
Reasons for Joining the Crew: To become the greatest warrior in the world his own way. After being defeated by Hirac, he accepts him as his captain, and decides to travel the seas with him.

DarkAndroid, I don't know if you were planning on this or not, but I think it would be really cool if you made reference to Luffy and the gang. As the man with the biggest bounty on his head in al of East Blue, I'm sure we would here something about him. Heck, maybe we could even run into them @_@

Background: He wasn't the most fit guy in town. He tried to keep up with the other boys, but they were just too fast. Even though the townspeople looked at him with pitiful smiles, he knew in his heart he wasn't good enough.

His parents left him years ago. They had to sail toward the new island without him. Under the orders of Treek. The vile half-human half-rhino. Everyone who could work was to be sent to the new island. He never knew what was on it.

He was left to be raised by the old people and other children. He always remembered back to the day when he didn't run fast enough to his parents to give them one last hug. He was too slow, and the gates closed in front of him. They sailed away. He never got to hug them...

Since that day, he trained to be faster than any other kid on the island. But, the town was too small to train on. And it was too overcrowded.

One day, the Navy arrived. One particular admiral took a keen interest in Jit. After their few days together, Jit told the admiral his story. The admiral took him away to the Navy base, where Jit could train properly.

He forgot where his island was located, and the other "new" island where his parents were. He travels now to find his parents.

Background:Her parents were killed when Kangen was a 3 year old so her 7years older brother took care of her. she was seperated from her brother at age 8 by a massive earthquake and lightning storm. after that she ate the devil fruit at age 9 and started fighting and using twin daggers at age 5. she has her headband given to her by her brother and only wears it when she gets serious in a major fight. she has a bounty of 40,000,000 beli on her haed for various theft and murder to survive. she is now 19 yrs old and has joined the crew to find her brother.

One day, a shady-looking man with a scar shaped like a cross approached him while he was off-duty. The man offered him a large sum of money to put poison in the food of the lead officer of the naval base. Gerrard accepted, and within two days the officer was dead.

Gerrard met the man where he was told to meet the night after he poisoned the officer, but instead there were three thugs with orders to kill him. Gerrard was forced to avoid the men. They separated to search for them. Seeing no other way out, gerrard killed them, one by one. He was forced to leave the naval base in secret.

Gerrard quickly gained a reputation as one of the most deadly assassins in the underworld, and one of the most insane. If he didn't poison someone, he was been known to be a vicious psychopath. Gerrard is trying to get away from his dark past, but he wants vengance on the ones who ruined his life.

Reasons for Joining the Crew: to get away from the navy, to get away from his dark past, and to find the man with the cross-shaped scar.
