and i get 5x + 5 as the answer...

dont forget you can factor out five. i sometimes get marked down for not "factoring completely".
so 5(x+1) would be the final answer, i think.

 

its a multiple choice test and that wasnt any of the answers. but yeah i know about factoring.
i always got marked off for doing everything in my head, lol.

 

Yes, it's better writing down everything you do in your head and getting a wrong result, than writing the correct result and leaving stuff off.

 

but it was with way simple problems...
like basic math stuff...
one time i got marked down for not writing out 50-25 just small little numbers that i dont need to write for anything.
if it is a real problem i do show my work.
