My uncle has lung cancer. Its very serious. How serious? Its 'doctors cant operate' serious. My Grandparents know its serious but they dont know what's really 'wrong' with him. My little cousins know he's in hospital because he's sick. (God bless them :)) My mum on the other hand, doesn't cope too well with this. She's scared, I'm scared, we're all scared...
If there isn't anything surgery can do, then there is only chemotherapy, I think. I know its hard, but you should be there for him as much as possible. There are various treatments, and I hope it gets better.
Like Star_Angel says, they will find a treatment for him soon. Modern medician has gone a long ways these days. Anyways, I hope everything will turn out okay with your family. Keep praying...
It's tough when you have a dear family member with cancer. I know, I remember watching both of my grandmothers die from cancer in the same year... I was very tough, not just to watch your loved ones die, but to also bear the pain that the rest of the family goes through. there isn't really much that I can say that could be of help here.... but I don't think that you made this thread in order to seek help. what I think you seek is comfort and reassurance... I can't promise you any reassurance, because it sounds like your uncle's condition is very serious; however i do have advice, make the most of whatever time you have left with your uncle. just talk to him about good times, do whatever you can to make the best of things, and try to think positive. you don't know how much time you have left with your uncle so make the most of that time. you don't want it to all end with regrets. that only hurts even more. that's all I have to say here. I'm sorry that I couldn't be of anymore help.
I hope your uncle gets better. If the doctors can't operate then there is other treatments. Don't be freaked out and visit your uncle as much as possible. Try and put on a smile while you are there so everyone can feel better.
